Having an intelligent head coach that schemes around his weaknesses is my talking point. Quick passes, roll-outs, screens, etc

My first thought too. I'll tell you where I think it fails. Mind you, I'm just a common fan. I'm no coach. I hope I'm wrong.

I see our offense becoming one dimensional. If the OL can't hold blocks then we have no deep threat. Sure, we can throw from the shotgun or roll the QB out, but that becomes predictable.

We had better hope this OL can run block. If they can open up holes for us to move the ball on the ground then maybe we can dink and dunk our way down field. If we can't run the ball effectively then all we will have is the quick and short passing game. That too becomes predictable. SEC defenses will take that away too.

I see us being very inconsistent on offense. We should be better than our 4 non conference opponents. I think we beat Vandy. I'm afraid that may be all.

Again, hope I'm wrong.

Its obvious to me the offensive line is garbage. They chose cole to play just because he will take the hits better. Which is smart and the right decision.

5-6 wins is probably our ceiling. They need to pick up our offensive line recruiting.

This is so crazy to me. Did Bielema really leave you guys this depleted? Recruiting misses/bad evals? I have associated you guys with good OL under his tenure, good OL under Petrino too. Hell, even Nutt. Are that many guys injured? This post is just nuts to me.

I guess you missed the last two years. We had collectively the worst line in the conference despite a couple good players. Petrino's line wasn't that good his last year here either. He was a good enough coach to mask it a little until we ran into Bama and LSU's dominant fronts that year.

And yes, we've had a lot of busts and recruiting misses there. We're so depleted we moved one of our best defensive lineman to O-Line. This staff isn't doing very well recruiting the O-line either which is the only thing about them I find troubling so far.

Tough to recruit Oline when your O line coach leaves due to the fact that the Head Coach is a loudmouth yet lazy fat frick.

RE Petrino: OL

Thank you for correcting me I don't follow the team very closely. I have just associated you guys with tough OL for so long, was thinking it went at least that far back.

Hope your OL heals soon

Nutt did generally have good OL, at least they were very good at run blocking. Had a center win the Rimington.

Kinda crazy that he could recruit OL better than a guy with Joe Thomas and Travis Frederick on his resume who had a first round draft pick on his roster in Ragnow.

When Pittman left, Fat arse had no answer.
Thus the depleted OL issue.

It's gonna take 3-4 years to fix the shite that Fat Bert left us with.

No Montaric Brown

He must really be struggling to get beat out by Tutt.

No Kyrei Fisher

I’m not sure I’ve heard the current staff mention him once which is surprising because the last staff talked about him being the future on defense.

quote:

Alexy Jean-Baptiste.

He’s a DE now so most likely will never contribute.

No Jordan Jones.

He’s not in the two deep but I bet he gets some reps since Morris said he likes a rotation of 7. It is surprising though to see Chase Harrell ahead of him considering he’s barely practiced due to injury.

Montaric may end up being a bust, or show up late in his career as a back up who contributes. That is my read on him at the moment. When we took him and curl, i actually thought curl was the superior athlete. Montaric looked slow to me, but had some hops.

Fisher i have no clue on.

Alexy is never playing here.

Jones it is obvious they value size the most at that 9 spot. He doesnt really have it.

I'm surprised deon Stewart is in the 2 deep. I hadn't heard much about him at all this spring and summer I assumed woods or jones would be on the field over him.

I actually said the same thing. Honestly i was pissed he was back in the 2 deep. They never said shite about him. I figured he was on the bench like he should have been the whole time, and just like that he is in the 2 deep somehow.

Woods is suspended his first game for his DUI. I bet he’ll be back in the WR rotation against CSU.

My body is ready. I’m ready to see the beefy Ryn Mallett in action.

He could make me eat these words, but IDK why we even took him instead of some grad transfer O-Lineman.

I was hoping he could add some LB depth, but if he's been moved, then I agree with you considering the incoming class. We're thin at LB. He definitely wouldn't have been moved if there was any hope of seeing the field there and it appears he's been passed by freshman, former walk ons, and current walk ons. I now see him as a definite possibility to transfer out and make room for some over signing.
