Time to admit we lost a lot when we lost Pittman/Chaney

Look at Georgia. Look at us. Now back to Georgia. Now back to us. Chaney obviously wasn't a loss at all, but Kurt fricking blows and I don't care how much you want to blame on recruiting, Pittman's line wouldn't be this bad. What's been public enemy #1 since the start of the season? The line.

I had actually gotten myself to drink some of the "Pittman was overrated" koolaid when he left to make myself feel better, but seeing Georgia this year and looking at how our offensive line has panned out the longer he's been gone, it's no secret we lost out. In hindsight was replacing Chaney worth it? I still want to say yes because Chaney is one of the worst in-game OC's I've ever seen in my life, but there really aren't any results to back up that stance.

i don't agree

pittman made one last charge at that OT that eventually went to Utah and got drafted in the first round. that was going to be the quick patch. when that didn't work out, he bolted.

he knew the line was going to be shite. he knew the line he recruited was going to be shite.

this week, 2 of our 5 lineman, neither being Frank Ragnow, made all SEC team of the week.

i think anderson gets a shite load of undue critiism.

Look back at Chaney’s SEC OC record, QB development and second half scoring issues.

Pittman and Enos' offensive identities didn’t match when it comes to scheme, measurables and what they want linemen to do or at least that is what it seems.

Pittman in that final year quit recruiting knowing he was out or at least that is how it appears now. Maybe he was planning for the stud official visits in late January but the names weren’t popping like previous years.

DO we keep forgetting that it is easier to get highly rated recruits in GA?

Pittman has never been that great of a recruiter imo... but he sure looks better with a more fertile recruiting ground...

Drewbie, you are absolutely right, but won’t get many people to agree with you because most people hitched their wagon to the new staff.

Clay Henry on Bo's show made reference to this. He started saying enos probably has stayed because he really liked Austin and thought he would be better this year.

He said coaches know what they have coming back. He then said that Pittman knew what was coming after we lost all those guys to the draft. So he ran. We are seeing his failed recruiting efforts.

Also what the poster said above in Pittman and enos not meshing. Enos wants to run screens. Pittman recruits 6'5 6'6 330 350 lb guys. Enos wants 6'4 315 athletic guys who can move. They didn't mesh.

it was obvious when they started talking about want meat and potatoes OL recruits and not the stars that philosophy was changing.

Recruiting more 280-300 types than the 340-350 under Pittman.

Whether it works or not long term we will see but problem has been we have large quantity not quality on the roster. That will turnover next two years losing like 8-10 to graduation.

This is the truth right here.
The mistake was hiring Enos. Not that Enos is a bad coach. I think he's great. He just didn't have the athletes he felt he needed to run the offense he was tasked by Bielema to run. This is why we had a walk on starting in place of a guy who was an Army All American in high school coveted by every major program in the nation.

Bielema mismanaged his roster. And Bielema's answer for this time and again is to mold the players he currently has to his system rather than his system to his players.

Because he is an imbecile.

Georgia's offensive line was the reason they didn't win ten or even eleven games last year. I couldn't have even imagined this kind of turnaround in one years time. Yes, it does help being in a fertile recruiting ground, but it's absolutely incredible what they are doing. Sony only carried the all 6 times against Florida for like a 140 yards, and we only even attempted 7 passes.

Arkansas needs a change at the top at this point, it's to far gone.

It’ll all be fun and games until they’re trying to put Alabama away and run a TE sweep.

Someone mentioned it already but I still think people are taking Georgia's talent far too lightly. If anything it speaks to them being justified for getting fed up with Richt. The amount of talent in that state/in that immediate area is insane. Not to mention they have a sexy name that Arkansas will never have.

Not saying this to knock Pittman tho I think that is dumb. He is awesome and I always liked him. Cheney on the other hand..

Pittman is a Chaney dick sucking ****. frick him. Chaney is literally fatter than Bert. They're both overrated as hell and need to be at a place like Georgia to succeed.

I have a hard time finding fault in Richt. Guy's got Miami relevant for the first time in nearly 20 years. Always thought he just got turned into the goat at UGA.

Georgia fans will shite bricks if Richt makes the playoff there this year and Chaney finds a way to choke away a game or two. Which could easily happen
