I know, right? Just look how great every other college, he ever head coached at, did on the National stage after he left

I didnt see he would leave us in a position to win the SEC. I said he would make our job attractive again, because he would show you can win here.

All this said, I am glad (obviously) we got Pittman rather than Lane

Are you attempting to say Tennessee, USC and Alabama weren’t national brands after he left?

Alabama doesn't count since I said "where he was head coach". That's not what I'm saying though. Obviously USC is still, and always will be, a national brand. Tennessee is debatable, but they are nowhere near the same class as Bama or USC. My point was, none of those schools that he headcoached and then left have exactly been worldbeaters since his departure. If he'd taken our job, I don't think he would've done much more than Pittman. Honestly, he may not have done as well as Pittman at this point. I definitely don't think him coming in for 3 seasons and then jumping ship to another school would do anything to make our job "more attractive nationally".

I'm just not seeing how Lane coming here and then leaving after a few years makes the job any more attractive. Anyone over the age of 12 knows you can win here. I'm not convinced Lane would've done any better than Pittman, considering what they've each done at their current schools. Considering the shitshow Pittman walked into, I'd say he's done better.

Lane being here and moving on is correct in that it actually makes it less attractive.

A stepping stone job is not what Arkansas football desires to be.

Hatfield and Sutton were the only coaches in any sport I can remember who left on their own for another school. And it Hatfield wanting to run his tired offense and Sutton had personal problems but he probably would have gone to Kentucky anyway.

We have never been a stepping stone program. That’s the main reason I didn’t want Kiffin, his reputation proceeds him.

Bump. It’s a circus in Oxford

And now it sounds like tPirate will be stepping down soon with health issues. Probably glad we didn’t hire either

Didn’t know about the health issues but rumors for weeks they would be looking at getting rid of him if he lost the third consecutive Egg Bowl with his best team and Ole Miss worst.

Never wanted Mike Leach…. Never understood the love he got.

Id take Art Briles 10x over leach… but hopefully Freeze is still looking when we hire again.
