Hey All ...

Obviously I don't post here often since it's your board, but with this week's upcoming game why not?

I'm not sure how much y'all have discussed how the divisions will be reshuffled once Oklahoma and Texas join, but with the most likely scenario being Auburn and Alabama moving East and Missouri moving West, I think the new SEC West could open up huge opportunities for both our schools.

Who among this group seems invincible...

LSU
Texas A&M
Texas
Oklahoma
Ole' Miss
Mississippi State

And who among this group would have the league office carrying water for them?

With an expanded playoff format on the horizon and Alabama and Georgia not sucking all the oxygen out of the room, I think our new SEC West is going to make a great launching pad for national relevance with an outstanding season. Frankly, I wish it were happening next year.

Missouri should have been in the West to start with but with A&M coming along that sort of torpedoed that idea.

Really, if you want to keep historical rivalries alive, and rekindle old ones, than the straight geographical split you are discussing makes the most sense. It puts Texas vs Arkansas/A&M back on the table every year. It brings back Oklahoma and Missouri. It keeps the Mississippi rivalry going.

I also think it opens up some really good future rivalries. Missouri vs the Mississippi schools. LSU vs Oklahoma.

Also the SEC West might lose Alabama, but it would become even more competitive than it is now. I like that. It would be a fun conference schedule to play.

Seems very dumb.

With an 8 game schedule that means we will play all the teams in your side then 1 on the other. So you get to play every team once every 16 years?

Or we go to 9 games and it will be all the people in your side plus 1 cross division rival and 1 new person every 2 years. So you finish up a conference in 14 years.

Or we can do pods and 9 game seasons and every kid that plays 4 years will play in every stadium.

If Mizzou and Scar end up in different divisions, I prefer them as our cross division rivals. Our games are always crazy and strange, this needs to happen.

I always liked having SCAR as a cross division rival too because you knew you always had a chance. Even when they’re good they aren’t THAT good. Similar to our two schools

I don't see how we wouldn't go to a 4 pod system when they come in.
UT/OU/Ark/Mizz
A&M/LSU/MSU/OM
Bama/AU/Tenn/VU
FL/GA/SC/KU

This set up makes the most sense and is much more balanced than the east/west is now. Mizz being in the east and Bama/AU being in the west is silly.

That’s what I am saying.

Play your 3 pod people. Then 2 in the other pods every year. That will be 9 games. And every kid who stays 4 years will play in every stadium.

This is going to kill the UGA/Auburn game. But they can always schedule outside of the SEC like UNC/Wake Forest did this year.
