By the way, North Carolina only beat Bucknell by around 12 points or so. Don't know where we will be by the end of the year, but I think right at this moment we are top 10 and nobody has a clue.

I would like to add that I am going to keep starting basketball threads until everyone is on board and we are filling that arena. This team deserves crowds that we haven't seen since the 90s.
Mike finally has the front court he needs and Gafford will be an improvement over Kingsly under Mike's system. That's not a knock on Kingsly, it's just a better fit for what Mike would like to do.

83 -75 final. Closer than I would have liked, but probably a good thing going into the tournament.

First really good test for our guards. Mike said that's the strength of our team so we'll see how we match up against OU.

Barford is a complete player at this point. The decision he and Macon made to return this season is going to pay off for both of them when draft day gets here. Barford especially. Nothing against Macon because he is a fantastic player and I love his game, but Barford is NBA ready. Meaning I firmly believe he could compete at the highest level right now no matter who he is matched with. Defense is outstanding, offense is unstoppable, strength is off the charts.
I wouldn't be surprised to see him drop 40 points a time or two this season. He could probably average 30 if he wanted to. And thankfully, he doesn't want to. It's hard to overstate how important that is. He is a team player and he is outstanding.
If I had to make a choice between a pair of guards and the options were Todd Day and Lee Mayberry vs Barford and Macon, I'd have to think on it Long and hard. Nothing but respect for those guys.
If Gafford can continue being a force in the paint this team is going to be very tough to beat. For anyone.
