Surely there's a limit to how much they can spend on a recruit's meal, right?

For christsake, I told a college of engineering professor to send the engineering recruit bus down Dickson Street to get them thinking about how much fun they can have. He said "what a great idea". All those kids talked about for the rest of the day was where they wanted to go on Dickson

That's engineers, think about football players

They'll find out one way or another

I know when I went on my tour I got to walk down Dickson at night and that really stuck with me when I went home. Not even the drinking part, just the atmosphere it had and how alive it was.

Not exactly, Texas takes their recruits to Vince Young's steakhouse which is pretty pricey. I saw a comment that some parents appreciated CH because of their affordable pricing, the school can't pay for recruit's guests meals or something. That was a nugget in the article about CH and the recruiting.

I think Dickson is the way to go. Doe's would be my top spot as well. Bordino's food is meh imo. Vetro is pretty bad arse. If we're selling the best we've got and want to make kids rave about the area, then Doe's gives you the best and they've got the space in their back room that the other places on Dickson don't really have if they wanted something a bit more private, which personally I would. It's a great opportunity for another mini pitch. The owners and staff there would knock it out of the park.

This is what I'm saying. Walk them up Dickson on their way to Doe's. Hot college girls hollering at them is probably going to get them way more pumped up than middle aged men chanting their names. Maybe I'm wrong but logic tells me probably not.

I just don't understand the strangle hold that the CFH has over our program.

take them to doe's, Grubs or even us pizza, i love the catfish hole but it doesn't give the recruits a feel of the town.

I shot a tweet to 2Beez. Tough to convey the message in so few characters.

Now someone needs to go give me a retweet to get the ball rolling.

Thep Thai is a favorite. Does that guy who owns it still talk about his massive cache of weaponry?

Is Art's Place still going in Fayetteville? They had a good burger, but man it hurt my lungs and eyes to be in there for too long.

You mean recruits aren't excited about the likes of Pat Gazola and Douglas Hazard and Lanny Beaver?

Its like a thousand Grit Kirks, without credentials.

So I slummed it over to HV just now to check out their recruiting forum and saw that they had a thread on the Catfish Hole. Apparently someone in the thread made fun of it so Oklahawg deleted those posts and then posted this gem.

Enough.

The OP is a legit question. It has been answered.

We will not have any "Catfish Hole Scuttlebutt" commentary during this year's recruiting season.

I will delete every freaking post that wants to debate the wisdom of taking recruits to TCH.

End of discussion.

This is what I was saying in my OP. People get PISSED if you question the CH. I just don't get it at all.
