even a blind squirrel finds a nut every once in a while, a broken clock is right twice a day, aj reed occasionally fricks around and makes one. Doesn’t mean you have any confidence in him with a game on the line.

4-12 in his career. There aren’t 10 people in the state of Arkansas that thought he was going to make that kick

Because our offense had totally proven they were reliable right?

4-12 is a hell of a lot better than the 0-10 on 3rd down. What changes on 4th?

No I don’t disagree with the call to kick it I just hate the sequence of play calls on 2nd and 3rd down. On 4th we had to kick it but I knew the odds weren’t good he made it

By your own logic, they literally converted a 4th down in the same possession. You used to defend Chad’s stupid decisions too. It’s ok to admit that the coach fricked up.

I'm willing to bet there was something underneath if he wanted.

Burks was standing wide open in the middle of the field. Honestly, I thought the play was a designed screen to him until Burks through the fade.

There was... the issue is that Woods is his first read on the play design.

This has already been debunked multiple times.

Outside of field goal range where they had no choice but to go for it or lose.

Sick of having to explain football to idiots that cry everytime a coach doesn't call a game like he's playing Madden online against a 14 year old.

Ok tough guy . It was a stupid call. The kicker is 33% on kicks over 40 yards in his career. He is now 25% on Kicks over 40 yards this season . Arkansas on the year has converted over 40% of their 4th downs. There was zero chance he was going to make that kick.

Maybe you can explain how to have a successful career next

You're down 3 with one timeout left and less than a minute and a half left well inside of your kicker's known field goal range on 4th and 3.

It's objectively the right call to kick for the points and tie the game. Arguing against that is absurdity.

It is not within his range. He misses two for every one that he makes at that range. This year he misses THREE for every one. You can’t be that dense

I wasn't on the rant or even know if this forum existed during Petrino's first year. Did our fans bitch this much when we only won 2 SEC games and had less offensive production than we currently have despite playing a normal season without COVID and with the benefit of buy games (albeit we almost lost those games back then as well)....?

25% says that it isn’t Maybe me and you have a different definition of success. 25% or 33% ain’t it for me

There's always a group that latches onto a singular topic and rides it the whole season. This is no different. Some of the gripes have merit, but they're usually drowned out by the piping hot takes.

He has attempted and made field goals at that range and longer.

It's factually within his range.

No, it really isn't when you realize that he's 4/12 beyond 40 in his career (if that's indeed true). You don't see NFL kickers that can make it from 55+ getting trotted out there just because they make one out of every three unless there's absolutely no risk (very end of game and long 4th down) or there's no chance of picking up the first down and it's close to the end of the half.

I think it was probably the right call, but not as black and white as you make it.

Kind of like how there is a fall guy every basketball season. I think the problem is that our fans rather be right than actually win. If they start the season wanting a coach fired or player benched they will root for that coach or player to fail. They'd rather be right than have to eat crow.
