They still have the plague in Lubbock, seriously.

I'm talking about the actual plague, like from the Dark Ages.

Its west Texas, there isn't many places on the earth worse than west Texas.

Playing SMU in Shreveport again would be a better road trip for fans that is close by.

The world is pretty big, meaning that's not even remotely true. With all of the flat land/ugliness, it's still in Texas, which is in the US, and surrounded by God-fearing people who are very friendly.

Not saying I'm going...just that it's really not that much worse than College Station. Not places I'd live (again in the case of CS), but perfectly fine for a football trip. They have running water, restaurants, and even hotels.

You can be driving in Lubbock and literally have a tumbleweed cross in front of your car.

I wouldn't take that trip but rather take a trip to an SEC opponent.

Lubbock, Tx. Where you can stand up to your arse in mud and have sand blow in your face.

Nice overreaction to a bit of hyperbole. He didn't have a good time in West Texas, thats all you need to take from that. Don't go all "In Toby Keith We Trust" on us.

The town isn't the best, but the fans are engaged and the stadium isn't half bad.

Just avoid the hot looking women, as "Raider Rash" is a real thing...

I'm going. Staying with an old roommate from college who's working on his PhD there.

Which is why I responded...so that OP could know that his hyperbole wasn't really germane to a short trip like a football game would be.

And saying they're friendly, god-fearing people is almost a direct quote from one of my buddies who actually had to move there recently. I'm not trying to them seem like anything they aren't...unlike maybe some.
