Hope this is true

I dont get the Odom to Texas move....that place is a career killer at the moment. Nothing good has happened to any coach there since Mack Brown was fired. My only thinking is that he can try to leverage that for a raise here OR that he thinks he can get a head coaching job after going to Texas as DC prior to when Sarkesian gets shitcanned by year 5

Odom still have 3 years left on his payout by mizzou as well, I think.

Every buck he makes will take away what they owe at a certain point.

Chesh, Am i right on this???

An S&C coach can make or break a program.

Just look at us under Herbert when teams were absolutely running around and by us and we had no speed or endurance, hence all of the blown leads. Our players could squat cars but couldn’t run from point A to B without falling out.

If we lose Walker, we need to open up the wallets to get a good one.

I honestly do not think there is a more toxic program in college football than Texas right now. The boosters, the sense of entitlement, the college administration... they almost manage to make Notre Dame humble in comparison.

But its Texas. Its one of the great white whales of college football.

I swear he is drunk 99 percent of the time he posts headlines. Either that or he is illiterate.

Glad to see that Walker and Odom are reportedly staying.

If Walker did end up leaving, I was all in on Ryan Russell, Auburn's S&C coach for the entirety of Malzahn's tenure. Just came down that he wasn't retained by Harsin, who brought in his guy from BSU.

A little over a week after announcing his staff and just days after having contracts approved, South Carolina is losing two offensive assistants—including their offensive coordinator—to another SEC school.

Football Scoop is reporting offensive coordinator Mike Bobo and offensive line coach Will Friend are leaving South Carolina to take jobs at Auburn.

GamecockCentral reported Thursday morning this seemed likely, and the Gamecocks are now in the market again for a line coach and an offensive coordinator.

Bobo was hired before the 2020 season and served as interim coach for three games while Friend was officially announced Dec. 27 as the Gamecocks' offensive line coach.

Both had contracts approved this week by the Board of Trustees. Both were under contract through 2022 with Bobo set to make $1.2 million and Friend $700,000 annually.

Don't understand the Bobo hire.

Didn't Georgia fans hate him his last few seasons there? SC fans seemed extremely meh on him being retained as OC by Beamer, so they probably aren't crying in the beers today.

It is what I like to call the experienced Coordinator song and dance.

"This guy has experience as a Coordinator in the SEC! What a get for (X)!"

Never mind that the guy in question might have been flaming poop as a DC or OC. He has experience. His only experience might be as a complete turd, but by golly, he is an experienced turd.

You see this trend in Hollywood and in politics (for both parties) as well. Someone who was, at best, below average, getting hired again because they have experience.

No kidding. Bobo seems to be the OC version of Muschamp sans the SEC HC opportunities.

On that note, Muschamp is the Norv Turner of SEC football coaches. Just keeps getting recycled over and over.
