He's a master at that. How many times have we fallen behind and come back to win? It's the expectation under Muss.

Otoh, I wish we didn't fall behind so much. It's like Muss watches the first half and then installs the real game plan.

Our offense is high screen pick and roll with Jaylin and JD.

How does that work better with Devo, who isn’t a particularly good shooter and is only good going to the basket in transition?

I don’t want to beat a dead horse and we can agree to disagree but we evolved to JD running the point w Jaylin on high screen and started winning… we were trying everything else early on. Is it perfect? Not by any stretch but it’s been pretty damn effective.

Unless I was just drunk and don’t remember anything…

Or maybe it’s a function of a transition year and having a lot of holes on the team.

Our holes get exposed early but our conditioning and effort is top notch. That reels games in down the stretch.

Y’all act like dude is just coaching in a vacuum and decides when we need to go ahead or something.

He missed badly on Lykes but it’s not like this entire board wasn’t rock hard for him.

The thing with Lykes is that you need to be great at driving and passing if you're that short. Lykes doesn't do the latter enough. He uses his size against him, rather than for him, by trying to shoot over taller players regularly.

My big complaint with the transfers is that Muss didn't bring in enough size. He wanted to build a team with 5 guards starting and that's not going to work most of the time. After we went on the losing streak, he finally gave up that idea and began starting the tallest players he had, outside of Vanover. But now we have depth problems in the front court and it would be nice if we had someone else around the same size as JWill, like Auburn has with Kessler and Smith.

Regardless, he did an incredible job with the change up and we're back in the tourney.

That's my dilemma. I've mentioned before that I began watching during the triplets and was a fanatic until approximately 25 years ago, when I quit watching basketball. I started watching again after Muss was hired, because I believed he would turn things around for us.

So I'm still old school and I've always preferred the college game. Muss seems more like an NBA coach, so I'm trying to square my understanding of the game with his experienced, professional approach. I'm trying to evolve here.

And that play at half is exactly why Devo isn’t running the point.

Say what you want about Notae but he doesn’t do shite like that.

Devo consistently does reckless shite with no value end game.

I hope next years crew can score and defend because this team can’t do it.

30 points in 30 min is embarrassing.

We need some god damn shooters and a big that actually plays big. Williams plays fricking soft as Charmin lately.

A woman beater and a hack?

We just sent their asses home.

Devo made 1 play and hit 2 FTs, the rest was mostly garbage.

Notae has got to chill but the last call was ridiculous.

Incredible that Notae had 4 (!) charge calls.

Granted, 1 was compete horseshite and another was iffy, but that’s got to be fixed.

For all his faults, we’re not going to win many games with him sitting the bench with foul trouble or fouled out.

Yea, I am. I don’t have a problem with a player driving and trying to create and draw fouls. Devo doesn’t do this.

A few times JD was out of control but he gets hammered on most drives without many calls. His finishing was off but still gave us 18. Also had 3-4 steals.

Devo played 34 minutes and had ONE assist and 2 points.

He took 6 shots, missed them all, and they were all way worse than any shot JD took tonight.

Devo literally cannot dribble to his right and you’re serious about him “running the point” for us.

Front court? Jabari Smith?

He plays on the wing man. Stanley and Umede shut him down most of our game until a few late 3s fell for him.

But yea, we do need another body in a bad way. I think Muss overestimated Vanover, so agree, decent miss there.

You guys think Vanover plays vs Gonzaga? They have 2 huge guys that play low and holmgren (I think) looks like the kind of guy vanover should be guarding.

No. Holmgren would absolutely school Vanover. He moves very well for a 7 footer.
