Contract, from what they said... Really?

1 stinking year? Is this correct?

Most assistants only get 1-3 years deal anyways. So it isn't surprising.

I can live with prove you are worth it and then you can get a lot more money contracts.

I agree. What I find funny is that a common excuse for giving coaches ridiculous contracts with guarentees was that it helped recruiting by promoting stability.

Now we have a DC who is only on a 1 year contract recruiting his arse off.

I guess recruits don't look at buyouts or contract terms.

It's also pretty hilarious that some said that Chief was too old and that he hated recruiting.

It is interesting but I think that stops when you are talking about the HC.

I personally think he and Coach Caldwell are out to prove a point. I think Coach Chavis has probably really got his fire back after all of the drama with LSU and aTm. He wants to prove the naysayers wrong.

Great news!

Chief has a history lately of "3rd and Chavis"

Maybe being back with Coach Caldwell will improve Chief's play calls.

I'm holding out hope that our D will be much better in 3rd down situations.

I would just be happy with getting to 3rd down occasionally this year.
