Point is we don’t need a lot to get the fan base back. Just give us SOMETHING. I bet Sam gives us something to hang onto next year. It may not be much, but it will be something.

If we snap the ball well (lol but it’s true), have an offense that slowly but steadily shows improvement (no changing QB’s every game), play with passion, and sign some highly rated offensive linemen, we will be buying back in.

See, you get it. That's what I said at the beginning of this season.

I told all of the boys at work, just give me something to hang my hat on. I said that if we went 4-8, or 5-7, that I could live with it as long as I saw our players fighting and clawing and playing hard. We could build off of that and hopefully continue to climb until the ship was righted.

After San Jose State, I realized Chad was a fricking aggie queer that needed to GTFO and never come back in our great state.

I'll say this, Pittman wants to be here and has some fire to correct things.

I'll give him a chance, and I hope he gets things fixed. The entire state, from a morale standpoint, is healthier when the Hogs are doing good.

I think this is where national media has gotten it so wrong
Are we passionate? Yes
Are we impatient? Maybe but I think most of us would have been content this year to just see improvement from Morris. 4-5 wins would have had 85%-90% Of the fans still behind him.

Getting your doors blown off by San Jose st and Western kentucky is something any reasonable P-5 school would cut bait on.

I can see why the players love him.

There is nothing fake about Sam Pittman. He is genuine. He's tough. And I sense that he really cares about the team and players. I believe he will give it everything he can for his team and I'm convinced that the team will give it everything they can in return. He deserves this opportunity and I will support him 100%.

Agreed.

He's legitimately beloved by former players. Ragnow basically said he was like a second father to him, especially since Frank lost his father while he was in college. He said Pittman checked in on him all the time, and even went as far as to talk Ragnow's sister through boy problems a time or two.

Some coaches are beloved because they were players' coaches who were lax in terms of discipline and putting in the work. You can tell that Pittman is both beloved and respected, and that combination is key. You don't garner the respect he does by kissing arse and telling people what they want to hear.
