Beat out Ole Miss for the kid from Tulane.
The Curne kid had a connection with Frank Wilson so not surprised we couldn't get him, but also glad we didn't break the bank for him when there are other equal or better talent Offensive tackles in the portal.

Agree. Even if we have a ton of cash, there's no reason to overpay. There are plenty of players in the portal. Need to scan the midwest for some big arse cornfed sumbitches.

Word is Golding is a great recruiter.... plus Curne had existing relationship with the guy that just came over from LSU.

I am guessing we wouldn't overpay for a kicker who only hit 55% of his kicks over 40 yds.
I’d be willing to bet the shanker from Tennessee came in for much less.

He seemed to be a solid kicker but was 0/2 against Ole Miss, 0/1 against LSU, and 1/2 against Missouri.
We lost by 6 to Ole Miss (2 FG)

Kickers make their money in those situations. Nobody remembers the 53 yard FG that he made against Alabama A&M to start the season. If an NFL kickers misses like he did when it matters most, he is cut from the team.

Yeah it got posted in the recruiting thread, he agreed to come back but his reps(family) were still shopping his name and Notre Dame actually told us about it and we told him adios and took the two new kickers

the family and I were invited to meet along with the team at Dave and Busters in Memphis Christmas Eve prior to the Liberty Bowl last year. The kids had a blast. We met many of the players including green. Green took us over to where many of the players were to get some pics, laugh, eat, etc. They all got up except Blackstop for a pic and Taylen said, "Get up man" He did, but refused to smile. lol.
