I don’t understand how we had a defensive lineman ranked 4th in the transfer portal. Our dline was arse all year in all phases.

Really hoping to see a string of commits soon. We have a ton of roster spots to fill.

IMO Rankings don't mean shite once you get past the obvious stars. Check Cignetti. Elite talent evaluator and great coach. He goes out and get ball players. Intangibles matter, especially with the NIL. You need kids that will be coached, work hard and compete no matter how much money they have. Recruit winners, kids that refuse to lose and despise it worse than they love winning and those kids will outperform. I'll take a 4.6 kid that is in the right place and tackles well over a 4.4 that could give a shite and has no clue what to do on the field. Lots of "looks like Tarzans, plays like Jane." players.
I want players with pathological competitiveness. I want guys that refuse to lose. Players with "that dawg" in them.

Agree with everything you said. This is what I posted a few days ago, basically parroting your view.

i would prefer grabbing winners no matter where they’re from. The commonality between the jmu players for Indiana and chambliss is that they won big at the places they were at before. We need to cure a culture problem and defeatist attitude that seems to perpetuate around the hill. Easiest way to do that is get guys who aren’t used to losing.

Means there was a need to make room it would seem.

So I never was great at math but by my calculations we still need at least one more QB, 2-4 OL and 2-4 DL, 2-3 LB, 4-5 DB. 1-2- RB, at least 1 TE, 1-2 TE
and a couple of OLB EDGE type players
not to mention a difference maker at WR would be nice also. as well as a long snapper
so roughly 28-30 more players.... seems like we had better get on it.....

I guess we have a commit on LS but might still take another....

I think I have everything correct, if somebody left and I didn't remove them let me know. As it stands with what I have we have 60 roster spots left to fill.
From the class and caliber I am guessing HY lied out his rear again in regards to the money we have available for NIL. Or maybe our program just sucks so bad no amount of money will get guys to come here.

60 is probably right.. I was just looking at the roster and it's pretty up to date except Oatis I think. I keep forgetting the number is 105 and not 85.
You wonder if CRS will take a full 105 scholarship guys just to fill it or try to spend money on better players. I personally would rather have 70 dawgs than 105 average joes.
But competition does breed success as well so he is also probably trying to build quality depth.

Need to pick up some Tight Ends as well. Lassiter is a FB converted to TE. WE have no real depth or experience there. The Foley kid from Tulsa would be a decent grab.
Yesterday seemed like get the Memphis kids you want signed and finish special teams then focus on Offense and Defense the rest of the way.

I would think there are some Florida defensive guys we might still be interested in as well... maybe Auburn as well

What about Antonio Jordan? Could he be the breakout receiver we need.
