Texas W was 4 seasons ago. Nobody has any issue with 2021 level results. The issue has been since then
Auburn has more talent but finished sub .500 4 seasons in a row. Auburn also just isn't really the elite level program they typically get credit for. They don't maintain the same yearly talent level as the best programs in the SEC, and they are just as often in shambles as they are SEC contenders
Tenn was a legitimate feather in Pittman's cap.
Here's the thing. Arkansas is tough job. Fair or not, to be successful here, you either having to be an other worldly recruitier, or you're going to have to at least win 50% of your games against teams ranked up to ~15 spots ahead of you in talent.
That, and you have to beat the inferior talent teams.
That's the job. Not easy. But the alternative of asking for a coach that can do this, is accepting the Liberty bowl as your peak.

The worst thing that could happen to 'college' football is what the NCAA allowed to happen. Unrestricted free agency and unrestricted NIL money.

None of this wouldn't have happened if the NCAA would have done it's job and given the death penalty to programs like Alabama that cheat to high heaven and played favorites of who gets punished or not. Rules are for the peasants but not our precious Alabama.
Without NIL and the portal, Saban would still be coaching and Alabama would still be dominating. People would still bitch and moan.
Something needed to change and chaos was what had to happen and bring parity back to college football.
