If Chad Morris is .500 in conference play in his 8th season, should he be fired?
Posted on 2/9/19 at 4:35 pm to Latarian
Nope, contract extension forthcoming

Morris will be fired in his 3rd season if he's .500.

Yup. Only Mike Anderson is allowed to be a garbage head coach this long and keep a job. Morris doesn't benefit from that standard.

depends, did he have two 9 win seasons just before?

Since when is 1 postseason win in two years equivalent to 9 wins in FB? Lol
Posted on 2/9/19 at 4:58 pm to Latarian
I bet you would like to return him to us.

The good news is that this thread is very premature. There are several wins left on the schedule. Arkansas will be >.500.

Not a fair comparison for Morris.
The SEC is the top football conference year in and year out.
The SEC is a garbage tier basketball conference year in and year out.
ETA: Going .500 in SEC football is not good, but not terrible. Going .500 in SEC basketball is absolutely turrible.

Except for all the years when it's an SEC team that wins a national title.

What do you think the equivalent is?

I actually don't care. If Mike is fired, we'll just hire someone even less competent, because that's what we do nowadays with men's basketball. The PTBs don't seem to care.
At least with Mike, we can pretend we have good reasons for keeping him around, since he was the waterboy for the 1994 team.

6-6. That is equivalent to Anderson's best season ever at Arkansas.

id imagine 8 plus a mediocre bowl win is fairly equal to 25ish wins and a 1st weekend bow-out as an 7-9 seed.
lol.

Anderson also has the 98th ranked recruiting class and his only recruit for this class so far committed 3 years ago. Reloading for Gafford's exit. Next year is the year!
