Being as we need some help at Safety, and he played safety in HS, wonder if they will try to push him to play there if Austin and Rafe show promise.

Weird, looks like Geauxt is Missy's alter.

Makes all their back and forth conversations seem odd now.

NO!!

It's just a little trick.
I love beebe's response, btw.

OG is a rare breed - a good Tigger.

My eyeballs just rolled so hard, they fell out.

OG has been around for ages, and plenty of people from here have known him for years irl.
You seem paranoid.

Just having a little fun. Lighten up a bit, honestly.

I know. I apologize to Beebe for "playing" in his thread.

piggilicious, when are you coming down? Are you staying in NO? What parades are you going to?

There's nothing to be afraid of, really. It's quite an experience. No matter how old you are or how many times you've been, there's always something some drunks will do to shock you, night or day. Just be prepared.

When you're in the Quarter, stay IN the quarter. Even though it's unbelievably crowded, don't be tempted to get away from all the people by veering off from the crowd onto the side streets on the outskirts of the Quarter. That's when bad things can happen. Oh, and NEVER touch the NOPD mounted police's horses. Some drunk dumbass did that one year, and got scooped up by the collar of his shirt by the mounted cop, and was drug off to the drunk tank. It was quite amusing.

The last time I went to Mardi Gras, we just went to the parades in Metairie. I think I've made my quota of NO Mardi Gras since I've been here. I've never been so hung over in my life, every time I've been to MG in NO, proper. I don't think I'd survive it, now.

You'll have a great time, though, no doubt. Glad you're getting to experience it!!

we're coming down down sunday the 2nd and heading home on thursday. i've been to nola on new years eve and survived that so hopefully i can handle mardi gras too. i happened to be driving when we got to nola on nye and being stupid didn't slam on my breaks and make a quick right which then set us back about 2 hours to get back to the hotel due to people, traffic, road closings. that was the only bad memory from the trip- everything else was so awesome- food, fun, music, liquor, shopping... ahhh i do love nola so much.

there is a nola newb coming on this trip so that should be extra interesting.

we're staying at the omni royale so we're in the qtr which i'm glad. i don't know which parades- do you have some suggestions?

This is a great link to "tips" about having a fun, safe Mardi Gras experience. It also has the schedule for all of the parades.

LINK Mardi Gras 2014

The parades that I've been to that are the best, to me, are Endymion, Bacchus, Rex, Zulu, & Orpheus in NO.
Zeus, Hera,& Argus, in Metairie, are very good, as well.

So glad y'all are staying in the Quarter. It makes things so much easier, and you'll get more of the experience just by staying there - not having to drive, find parking, etc.

New Orleans is one of my favorite places in the country, and not just because of the partying. There is so much history, architecture, & culture that gets overshadowed by NO's image sometimes. It's a great place to visit when it's relatively "quiet".

I don't know if you've ever been, & I think it's only open until 3:00 p.m., now, during the week, except Friday, but Dooky Chase is one of my favorite restaurants. The fried chicken is incredible, and love the soul food. Lots of history there. It's been around forever.

Emeril's & Delmonico (my fave of Emeril's) are very good, as well. I also like Cochon & La Petite Grocery. Of course, Commander's Palace is always incredible, as well as Brennan's. I still think the best mufaletta, ever, is from Central Grocery. I have to get one every time I go to NO.

You're right, NO has some of the best food in the world. I live about 60 miles from it, and you'd never know it. These folks around here can't even fry catfish.

Your "newbie to NO" friend will have a great time - maybe a bit overwhelmed at times, but will fall in love with NO, I bet. It seems most people do the first time they visit. There's no other place like it.
