Colorado is awful nice as well, but it's way too "hip." I get sick of hearing about it, to be honest. I've been there. It's cool and all, but it's overrun by hipsters and half of what you're looking at is inaccessible because it's up a sheer granite face.

North Carolina is where it's at IMO. If I didn't grow up in NWA and had to choose a place to live, it would be Highlands, North Carolina.

I spent a week in Estes Park, Colorado back in the 90s. Cool little tourist trap north of Denver. Beautiful there. The town was overrun by mule deer and elk.

I think most folks that have never been to Colorado would be or are surprised when they learn the eastern part of the state is a barren wasteland and Denver rises like an oasis out of the desert when you approach it.

Weird, I hike & ski those inaccessible places in Colorado all the time.
