I just keep seeing the scene of Cade Mays and the other Tennessee O linemen hugging Pittman after the Tennessee game and it kind of gets my hopes up that he has put the idea into some of their head at how great they would have it playing for Pitt.

All I know is, he got to get 4-5 really really good O linemen and D linemen and LBers.

Probably will have 3-4 spots for grad transfers. We just offered a JUCO LB yesterday committed to Mississippi State though.

Wouldn't mind using every single one for defense. Really need a CB too, Hudson Clark can't be starting again next year.

I’d like to see us take a transfer at every level of the defense. We’ve got at least 3 scholarships available so go out and get a DL, LB and CB. I’m assuming Gerald, Marshall and Morgan will all leave so we really going to get hit hard in the front 7 and then we all know the story at CB.

I assumed at least Morgan and maybe Gerald comes back because they can with covid and I don’t see them being super high draft picks. I think Marshall has played his way into some money. That boy can ball

I put Morgan in there because the knee injury looked pretty bad. I could see him just hanging it up and moving on to med school instead of rehabbing to maybe never be the same. Hopefully he just tweaked it and we can get him back because we clearly need it.

Some of these guys would have redshirted as freshmen under normal coaching regimes.

Same, especially in the front 7.

Losing one of the two of Marshall and Morgan would hurt, but losing both leaves a gaping hole in the middle of our defense next year.

I'm talking a bout players like Bumper Pool that should have redshirted had Bert built quality depth.

That is the problem why we can't get any momentum here.

Some of our best players are seniors and the next year we don't have any upperclassmen but a bunch of freshmen. They aren't ready but are starters as freshman because of the lack of depth. Instead of getting redshirted and having a breakout junior year, it is as a senior.

They leave then it starts all over again and the cycle continues.

I hope Sam will put a lot more emphasis on redshirting and instead of wasting a year for nothing.

That is the only way we will ever solve our depth problems.

But then people bitched at Morris for not playing Catalon last year lol. If it were me with the four game redshirt rule I’d play the best freshmen in your four most winnable conference games like Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Missouri and Tennessee (this year) so that way you’re getting something out of them without wasting a year in spot duty. But a lot of recruits may not want to go somewhere without guaranteed playing time

Doesn't everyone get an extra year because of covid?

If they and the coaches want it, yes....

But we haven't seen the rules on how it affects the overall program scholly limits/yearly limits yet have we?

Fluid as a chunky crap..

It would help this program tremendously if most or if all the seniors are coming back. It helps build depth with another year of development.

We really need a big break.
