Kiffin for starters.

The fact that Kiffin isn’t our coach right now should tell you a couple of things. First, there is a very real possibility that Kiffin wouldn’t have been here three years to begin with. It doesn’t take a genius to see that he has always looked down his nose at Arkansas. Second, that there was probably some significant opposition to Kiffin within the administration. What do you think that translates to, after a couple of years of 2-10, 4-8 type seasons?

1. Mike Irwin was calling this from the begining basically.

2. Pittman matches up with Musselman in the sense that he apparently sold himself for this position. He wants the job. That is very important. I think it's the main reason Morris was a failure. Morris most likely was looking at using this job as a stepping stone into a larger gig.

I think it's highly likely Pittman was at the top of Yurachek's list. Or near it.

It's a gamble, but I think it may pay out. Pittman is gonna work hard. You can take that to the bank.

Agree with the rest, but the above is wishful thinking. I think Norvell shot us down early, and so Kiffin was the guy. Given that HY tried hiring him before, I think it was the plan. I think Kiffin was the arrogant piece of shite I always suspected him to be, and HY was led to believe he had his guy in the bag, with nothing from the Kiffin side locking that in. Then Kiffin gets the opportunity to HC in the SEC, at a place that doesn’t have too high of expectations, and won’t require as much work from him, and he gone.

Ultimately, I think Kiffin, like a lot of second generation success, is lazy, and didn’t want to put in the work it would have taken to bring us back. Coupled with the fact that Arkansas is beneath him to begin with, he took the first train out. Pun intended.

Irwin had no clue what HY was doing. He just knew that Pittman was interested. Pittman is being forced on HY by the BOT.

That's because HY had no idea as well.

For real? Who are you hearing this from? No names of course, but where is this coming from? I don't buy it.

Well, I didn't mean that he was at the very top. I think he was up there though. Just a hunch.

The idea makes a lot of sense considering we are seeing it pay dividends at LSU currently. They're gonna be able to get the head coach relatively cheap and then load up for superstar coordinators.

Either way, whether it was purely Yurachek or maybe suggested, I think it may work.

You’re deducing this how?

Frank Broyles in his prime would have a hard time selling this level of a shite sandwhich?

Really, who else was he “supposed” to get that you or all the other delusional fans would have been happy with?

The only thing worse than an armchair QB is an armchair AD.

He was likely at the top of the list for anyone who would actually take the job.

I agree, and at this point is probably best case scenario. I would rather take a shot with this, than a guy with one year at App State, or Butch Davis.

I agree, we are in a hole and we're lucky to get anyone respectable to step down into it to help us get out.

Right now you'd be hard-pressed to find another job that's a harder place to get turned around than Arkansas football.

I probably would have been OK with Drinkwitz to be honest. But I gotta agree that Pittman is likely a better hire.

This last guy we had just brought his coaching staff from an inferior conference. That didn't work out too well.

With Pittman you know he will be drawing from a much richer talent pool. His guys will be coming from places like Georgia instead of an FBS school.

He needs a good budget to work with.

A 60 year old first time head coach with no coordinator experience, what could go wrong?

Go ahead and hit me with the first realistic candidate that doesn’t have some serious deficiencies.
