Was looking at some Kenpom comparisons between us and Butler and I noticed a bit of a correlation between our wins/loses and our opponent's offensive rebounding stats. I know you are thinking, "duh, good teams always have good rebounding stats", but bear with me and see the stats below. I feel our draw is a favorable one, especially compared to previous years.

Man those LSU losses are bad. I didn't watch a ton of games this year (happened to catch part of both of those). Had we won both of those my opinion of the regular season would probably a little more positive.

I'm hoping these numbers play in our favor and it's not a case of them missing very few shots, not having a chance for many offensive boards.

We'd be a 5 seed easily. Terrible.

The home loss was bad, you all should get the idea that LSU is a bad team out of your minds.

They won 8 games in the conference and beat a very good Houston team that for some reason people think is bad too.

According to rpi, we didn't have a bad loss all season unless lsu finally went below the century mark

Another interesting stat for you...
In losses this year, our opponents have averaged 43.5% from 3P,in other words, they have had to out gun us. For reference, The best 3p% in the country is 42.2%,we are 12th at 40.1%...Butler ranks 139th at 35.6% from 3p.

I like this post. I think the analysis makes sense. Offensive boards allow opposing teams to slow the game down and allow them to play at a pace that they like.

Our philosophy on rebounding is what Bielema thought about special teams. Didn’t value it.

All about positioning and effort
