for ice to accumulate it needs to be 28 degrees or below, and the low tonight is 29

Because the forcasted temperature is never off by a single degree or two.

We shouldn't lose any power in Fayetteville, for ice to accumulate it needs to be 28 degrees or below

No. 32 freezes elevated objects, 29-28 is for the roads.

32 causes ice to accumulate on power lines, etc.

This ice could be the one thing standing between me and a lot of $$

I'll be pissed if the admin offices are closed tomorrow and I can't get that bid in.

Looks like most of the ice is supposed to come between midnight and like 4 or 5, then it will get above freezing pretty quick. Shouldn't be a complete fricking disaster like a few years ago.

It is not sounding good for my area.

Saying the ice is going to be really bad, and specifically mention my town as getting the locally higher amounts.

Southern Missouri and North Arkansas

Here the forecast is a bit trickier! Precipitation will begin as snow tonight but will change to sleet and freezing rain. We think this is going to be a mostly icing event for this area. Rain may eventually mix in during the day and this would be good helping to break up and melt some of the ice. If for some reason we do not change to rain then this area will carry the brunt of the storm. Ice accumulations could be slightly more than a half inch.
