I’ve said all offseason, there are reasons to be optimistic if you want to be optimistic, and there are reasons to be pessimistic if you want to be pessimistic. I think this team may surprise some people.

KJ was KJ's biggest enemy last year.
Wanting to be a pocket passer so he can bank in the NFL, but he can’t hit a quick out or any timing pass really ruined KJ.
He will be Feliepe Franks if he wants to make it in the NFL.

OL should be improved and the secondary will be only as good as the DL which brings experience and depth.
QB is a concern and the sunshine pumping said that Green struggled yesterday in practice. That doesn't mean anything because practice is practice but I don't believe he is going to light it up in the SEC in his first season here. It doesn't help that the WRs lack the elite speed that is needed for separation and make huge plays down field. Arkansas didn't have that last year.

I’m optimistic with BP behind the offense. I’m optimistic on the season as it feels like a different direction for the program. The game is played on the field and I think we have enough on paper to be competitive. Maybe it’s because I’m taking the kiddo to school and I don’t want to think about that! :(

Arkansas on paper last year was a 6-6 to 8-4 team and with better coach could have squeezed out a 9-3 season. But that doesn't matter if the team is poorly coached and the players quit.
The Oklahoma State game will be the most important game of the season. If Arkansas runs onto the field in a 50-6 type game then it just tells us what we already knew, a repeat of last year. If they compete and make a game out it then the outlook for the season isn't so bleak.

Absurd. That was one of the lesser talented teams in P5.

BYU 38-31
LSU 34-31
Ole Miss 27-20
Alabama 24-21
State 7-3
Are you sure about that?

I tend to agree. Our offensive coordinator coach’s failure to utilize our available talent really hurt us and cost us some games. Our head coaches lack of experience was a minor issue comparatively, of course that flaw still probably cost us at least a game.
Bobby is known for properly utilizing his studs, so ~9-3 can be expected this season?

I can't expect a 9-3 season with so many unknowns on both sides of the ball and Petrino can only do so much.

If we don’t get 7 to 9 wins this season then Bobby gets the blame.
He’s at least worth 3 wins more than Dan Enos.

They very well may have been a lesser talented team...but a competent offensive game plan wins the below games that they lost....
BYU Lost 38-31
Mississippi State Lost 7-3
which puts them at 6-6 a season ago...
I would also wager that with Briles still at OC, Arkansas wins at least one of the LSU, Alabama, and Ole Miss games. We'll never really know that, but I'd hedge my bets on Arkansas going 1-2 in those three games...which then puts last years team at 7-5 with a chance at a weak bowl opponent win and finish 8-5...
But if that team goes 8-5, Enos is still here and so is KJ...and I think the program is better off with both of them gone.

What gives you that impression?
This board is starting to give to much credence to what the results would have been had this or that happened.
It’s simple, last years team was full of guys with little to none NFL potential. The offensive line was flat out terrible. Aside from Armstrong the WR group was mediocre at best. Rocket dealing with injuries all season left the RB room with nothing. A QB that was disinterested.

If nothing else, our recruiting rankings have been better than the majority of the other P5 schools. Top 30 at least consistently.
We had talent, but it was woefully underutilized which led to players getting frustrated and saying frick it at the end. The talent didn’t shine so NFL scouts didn’t take notice.

247 had our team talent rank at 32 which is pathetic relative to the resources given to the program.
Who had nfl potential in your opinion?

Of that group only Sanders, Cam, Jackson, Limmer, and Hasz are bonafide nfl prospects. And Hasz and Sanders hardly played.

That’s the story of Arkansas since Bobby landed in the ditch.

Because Arkansas had more talent than BYU and Mississippi State...both games where the offense went absolutely cold (BYU) or just horrible management on that side of the ball (State).

Its a fricking message board where discussions take place.
