Or some just realize that you can't microwave a football program back to consistent prominence after wandering the desert as long as we have. What we need now more than anything is a consistent foundation. Massive staff overhaul every 2 years isn't going to get us anywhere.

Correct you can't. You also cannot have the wrong person in the wrong seat which is what we currently have.

Who wants to come here that is so much better than what we currently have that we should cut ties with Petrino completely? Because no new coach worth a damn is going to let Hunter pick his OC for him and we're not serious enough about winning to let Petrino be Head Hog again.

First of all it doesn't really matter the leadership is going to do what it's going to do. HY isn’t picking anything nor is he in charge of anything but paperwork. The GOBN is running the show again and the rumors have it it'll be a BO/ Petrino sandwich.

I just don't see what that changes other than recruiting getting potentially worse.

I'd also rather walk on a mile of broken glass barefoot than go back to playing a 3 man front.

Reducing year 1 to a couple of "moments" is not downplaying his successes?

That's you cherry picking my posts to avoid agreeing my original comment is reasonable and agreeable.
I picked what I responded to. I disagree with your premise of not being able to trust Pittman entirely.

It's okay to disagree with it, but not to the point you misrepresent it.
Except I didn't. You're the one that claimed I said you gave ALL the credit to a wide receiver when I said you were giving credit to a wide receiver BEFORE the head coach. There's a big difference there. If anything, you're misrepresenting my response.

You are very obviously downplaying Sam's involvement in anything positive that has happened during his tenure while simultaneously holding him solely responsible for the negative. That's not misrepresenting you. That is exactly how you've framed your argument and you aren't the only one that does this.

It changes things a good bit. Brings in someone who can build and maintain a culture and identity. It provides consistency gets rid of peaks and valleys. Most importantly it puts someone in charge that knows what to do.

It was prior to the NIL problem with UNLV... I have heard things have definitely changed since then.

In fact, I can't imagine a tone deaf AD in HY with Barry 'frick nil" Odom and our future... Just Dayumm!

There's no NIL problem at UNLV it was a shake down from a naive big headed player and a shady agent who just ruined the last of his football career.

BO has played the portal well and last year and first part of this season so far have shown it.

Yeah Odom is toast for any big job now after not paying NIL. Saw where a casino stepped in today to offer to pay the kid his NIL but too late damage done no returning.

I would argue no one has a worse reputation than Odom regarding NIL right now. So yeah, he "played it well" right before becoming a national pariah

It's almost like no one actually knows anything about NIL and all the behind the scenes stuff is completely opaque to the average fan. But everyone keeps parroting talking points from knuckleheads on the radio

He may have played it well... but let's be plain. Perception will kill his momentum. He, with HY would absolutely be a catastrophe at this point imho. There are already a few articles being circulated saying thus! But, you keep on man....

You could argue it all day but you would be wrong Odoms rep is fine he had a transfer qb walk and a 4th string rb big deal he still got a whole undefeated team backing him. You are right about one thing it is amazing how little you know about NIL.

100% never will get the Odom love. His bend don’t break defense pisses me off because it breaks every time in critical situations.

He isn’t a people person, so he was never going to win the recruiting battles without money, and now he shows he can’t get them the money he promised.
