Winning both of the remaining series 2-1 gets us to 20 wins, which would likely get us a top 8 seed.

LSU and A&M both have an outside shot but they’d have to seep both of their remaining series which is very hard to do in this league. LSU closes with Ole Miss and Vandy, and A&M closes with State and Ole Miss.
aTm has the best chance of sweeping out. I think we need to root for 2-1 in each series for them. We don’t want to be tied at 19-11 with aTm come selection time. They’d get top 8 over us.

Even if they win the west and finish second in the SEC?
Yes. If Arkansas loses the last series to Alabama they’re not going to get a top 8 national seed and likely don’t win the west.
aTm likely finishes at 18-12 or 19-11. Tie with aTm and they’re the #2 seed in the SEC tourney and they’re the top 8 seed with their resume and series win over Arkansas.

It remains to be seen... There's a decent chance that we set the record for highest rpi to clinch a national seed.

Do y’all think D1 baseball starts to course correct their rankings a little bit to look at least somewhat closer to RPI? Or are we just gonna have this massive discrepancy between being a top 4-5 team in the polls yet not getting enough love from RPI?
I guess it’s kinda the opposite problem Fairfield had last year.

Comes down to lack of top 50 opponents. Probably need Bama to at least win the series vs auburn, if not sweep, so that if we take our series vs them, or sweep them, they stay in the top 50 rpi.

I can't see state getting swept two weekends in a row. If state takes 2/3 from the Aggies and that would spoil those chances. The Aggies would need to sweep Ole Miss on the road and that isn't going to happen against a team that is fighting hard to make a regional. I can see the Aggies shite the bed against Ole Miss and lose it.

A&M is one of the hottest teams in baseball, but Ole Miss isn’t a pushover.
As Ole Miss showed in our series last weekend and then again this weekend, they’re still fighting. They were two swings away from sweeping us.

The Aggies dropped 12 spots after losing to South Carolina, they won 2/3.

Getting 3 solid innings from McEntire was a good sign. It’d be great if he could be the second reliable middle reliever behind Taylor.

Agreed. We can’t afford to have a pitching situation like last year where at the end of the season it was basically pray the starter can go 5 to 6 innings, bite your fingers to the knuckle with a reliever for an inning or two, and have Kopps get the final 6+ outs.

Stayed at #4 in D1 baseball. Vandy moved into the rankings at #24.
Up to #20 in RPI. Vandy is #4 in RPI.
Obviously getting 2/3 from Vandy this weekend would be massive.

D1 has us projected as a top 8 national seed with ... wait for it ... Texas coming to Fayetteville as a 2 seed.

BWS would be absolutely lit.

If that happens, have we ever had a more heated Regional game than that in our baseball history?
Posted on 5/12/22 at 11:48 am to Arksulli
The super against Ole Piss was extremely lit in game 3.

Kjerstad hit a bomb in that game that still hasn’t landed

The Super Regional against Southwest Missouri Regional Technical Institute was up there as well.
