upgrades received in the portal versus those processed out via the portal will be a complete upgrade of the roster, as it was last year

sorry that throws a wrench in your plans to cheer for us hiring narcissist Malzahn or his child Rhett Lashley or whatever

the good side of our fanbase knows that some of the Negative Nellies are secretly lying in wait and committed to that course of action intended by the Boyers and Georges and Walkers and Six Flags over The Duggers, etc

You forgot Simmons.

And chill, I'm 6 to 9-10pm with the new hires and portal guys.

You're not seeing me complaining about losing 2 all airport safeties that hardly played here and never really did anything besides being the better players on some really bad defenses.

I've said multiple times keeping the core together is and will be huge.

Domineck is about the only loss I think is big, everyone else we're upgrading/needed to move on from.

So every player we got is better than every player we had leave?

All those highschool kids we recruited are ready to immediately provide depth? No need to redshirt anyone?

It's in fact possible to be ok with Sam and still be concerned about the amount of turnover he's experiencing. Especially as it relates to next season and our depth chart.....

There's really not much time left for transfer portal additions. Classes start on the 17th if they want to participate in Spring ball. If we don't fill them, we'll have to wait until May.

We got the entirety of our 2021 starting defensive line (Ridgeway, Williams, and Utsey) out of the portal in May of that year.

There will be some value in the portal after spring ball.

you mean the amount of turnover he's initiated

"Malik to Nebraska" was a lie the entire time, by someone

transfers to P5's are 7 or less

your Negative Nellie message board posse have even tried to float Rocket leaving, which is bullshite

guarantee you're a Malzahn dick licker or Malzahn protege dick licker and/or his money guys like the Walkers and Georges - you're lying in wait is my guess - almost everything you say is based on lies, so there's no other way to consider what your motive is

Arkansas has had 25 players transfer out and is now at 9 incoming transfers. Per On3, they have lost 14 3?? (no 4??). They have brought in 7 3?? transfers and 2 4?? transfers for the 5th ranked class. The average ranking of an incoming transfer is 73.67, outgoing is 58.72

It's as simple as looking at did the players leaving contribute? And would they have contributed next year? Yes several of them would. There were also several who wouldn't.
We're at best getting back to where we were at this point optimistically contributor for contributor. Our defense was not in a good place depth wise this year.... We actually needed to retain and add talent not break even
On the cycle this year especially with losses to NFL, and graduation thrown in there.

You can retain talent once you have enough players that have contributed. But Arkansas went 7-6 and it is a good indication that the players that transfered out didn't contribute.

Could they contribute in the future? Unlikely because you can tell in both the first two years if they are going to be impact players or not.

that would for sure involve retaining guys like slusher, Domineck, ketron, trey Knox, Nichols,Thompson.

A couple of which we got in the portal last year as upgrades in talent...all of whom contributed this year.

last years portal class is a great example where we lost a couple players who contributed but overall we didn't give up much. This allowed for us to pretty much get back to where we were previously with the losses to NFL and graduation and have potentially more star power. We also were pulling kids from Alabama,OU, Georgia, LSU, and Florida state programs.

This year we have the same issue of graduation and NFL talent losses to replace. We also have several more contributing players leaving the program. So while we're not falling apart we're also not really moving the needle right now. We're also not necessarily grabbing the same type of recruit at this point. We're leaning heavy into the moving up a league segment which should hopefully lay off if we're selective.(Baylor, north Carolina, Florida, Pitt)

Sam's still got a lot of work to do here though. it's certainly not hopeless . New coaches are promising as well so that should improve recruiting next year if nothing else.

No real rush to add guys now when the quality isn't there at certain positions and another window of portal opens up in May after spring ball.

Preferred walk-ons will get the 1-year scholarships if any are available at the end.

Yeah I’d prefer we wait for the fall on remaining DT and DB additions. There should be a nice round of additions to the pool at that point. No need to rush it when we actually need to upgrade there.
