I get why they stayed in DFW - but do you realize that we never knew a thing of Paula Morris? That was crazy to me.

My wife and FIL ran into Sam Sunday in Hot Springs. Of course it was a trip I had to stay in NEA and miss out on. I chewed her rear for not getting a picture Sam and my little girls. She said he is just as personable as he is on camera.

Doesn't surprise me at all. Dude's as authentic as it gets. I really REALLY hope he does well here because I'm not ready for the conflict of emotions if he doesn't.

I really believe that he will. I watched the finebaum interview yesterday. Very well done. He is bought in to Arkansas, and this program as well.

We will get some incredible O lines and D lines in the coming few years. From there, what RB wouldn't want to run with those graders paving the way. And, with Briles… I think we are in good hands, but patience is the key. For both us and him.

Same here. I would be thoroughly surprised if he doesn't work out.

He can flat out recruit his arse off, he knows how to develop that talent, and the cream of the crop assistant coaches want to work with him. All of that is a recipe for winning ball games.

Pittman knows what top SEC talent looks like.

Our last two coaches may not have understood that.

I'm glad that Sam and Jamie are happy here and I know Sam will do his best to keep them here.

With both Bert and Chad, it was obvious to me and my family, all lifelong fans going back generations, damn near from the get-go that neither guy was going to work. There were just all these little apects that they either didn't get or were just seemingly over their heads in so many ways.

And we all knew damn near immediedtly that they had to go.

There was bullshite Big 10 tough talk and gold digging, attention seeking wife talk... Or no wife at all talk... And dumbass gimmicks and arrogance and drunkenness, but most of all, sheer incompetence.

But with Pittman and his family, it just feels different.

I will root for this man whether we are 2-10 or 10-2, as long as the team shows signs of fight and life....which they will, because this guy knows what it takes, whereas the last 3 head coaches were glorified lottery winners... Just here for the cash and the buyout...and no idea what to do.

and I believe you are exactly right. He just seems authentic as all get out. When is the last time we had someone who seemed truly invested in the best outcomes of the program, and who wanted to be here over anywhere else?

Dude is real. Love it!

Bobby, even as evil as he was, actually and truly liked it here. Nutt, also, obviously, but there was just so much "Houston Nutt" with Houston Nutt.

This is the first time I can remember someone who has it all... Real passion, likeability, coaching ability, recruiting, etc. I'd play for Sam in a heartbeat.

Houston Nutt was the last coach we had who was as passionate about our program as Sam is.

I had no idea Sam had this kind of history with us.

Come hell or high water,I believe Sam is going to do a fine job here.I just can't see him screwing this up.

Go Hogs!
