This is only a valid excuse if in your 8 years here you actually have something to show for it

Lol you realize why it’s the youngest team in the country right? Mike had 8 guys drafted lasted year so we had to bring in a bunch of freshman

Baw i love your work on the rant, but most anger at mike is undeserved, and deserved at the same time.
What is true, and is the core issue with mike, is that he does not handle the early departure aspect of the current college game well. He does not recruit at a super high level, and he has a bad problem of not having a complete team.
Similar to how bert had an amazing defense with a mediorce offense in 2014. Then flip flopped in 15. Mike will have one peice of the puzzle one year, and then lose it the next when the other pieces are ready.
I fear that mike will never be able to put it all together. We have 8 years of this flip flopping strengths.
I like mike, but the core of the issue is he just doesn't recruit in a way that will put all the pieces together at once. I hope one day he does, but for all of the "problems" really comes from this. those are symptoms of this issue. If he can just put all the pieces together at once. I think he could coach the team to some big wins.

FIFY. This is the correct response each and every season.

No we had 8 guys lose their eligibility 0 got drafted. Barford and Macon are both tearing it up in the G league and will probably be on an NBA roster soon but no lol we did not have 8 players drafted only like Kentucky or Duke could pull of something like that and it would be incredibly historic

Did you not get the memo? Mike Anderson is not to be criticized. We are lucky to have him and to remain mediocre under his leadership. Now, commence sunshine pumping in 3....2....1

Before I get tossed into a blender, this was a joke just in case someone missed that part.

Yea you gotta really be specific, everyone’s on edge so bad they can’t read obvious sarcasm. Hard times

Kentucky seems to do quite well with a team full of freshmen every year. This argument is invalid. Anderson sucks as a coach. He doesn't call plays he's nothing but a glorified motivational speaker who can decently recruit.

Sweet 16
I'm on the pro-Mike side of the fence right now, and even though I criticize people for assigning arbitrary goal posts, I am doing exactly that myself.
I want to see a Sweet Sixteen this year or I'm back on the fence. NEXT YEAR if we don't make a tournament run, it will be time to move another direction. IMO.
It seems most reasonable. He's been good enough to keep his job to this point, and now he has signed himself a new roster of talent, and he deserves a chance to see how far he can take this roster.

The team is young this year, but loses their centerpiece inside next year. Are you worried about the possibility that this year might actually be the best version of this roster he has? Its crossed my mind for sure.

I don't know, man. Honestly, I don't think the team is going to take too many steps backwards.
Gafford is an elite talent and an elite athlete and he doesn't really even have a ceiling that I can see. But Mike's system is ran in such a way that he can make any tall and athletic dude his center piece. This up and down style of basketball and motion offense in the half court puts a premium on athleticism in the post moreso than someone who is a developed post player in the traditional sense.
Ethan Henderson may end up being a big deal here before he's finished. And even if he isn't, they should be able to plug just about anyone in there once Gafford is gone as long as they're competant at all considering the ceiling on all of our current guards.
These guys are gonna be crazy good once they've developed some more and get more and more comfortable with what Anderson wants to do.
I think they'll be fine next season. I'm not too worried about Anderson letting me down on this. I think this roster has the potential to be outstanding. Even in this "street ball" type offense. They've been recruited for it after all.
ETA: I would also add that Reggie Chaney is impressing me more and more with each game he plays. That guy is a hell of a player. Great frame. He has a very high ceiling as well. Soft touch around the rim, great footwork, strong as a ox, rim protector, etc.
He needs to develop his long range jumper a little more, but this kid is gonna be great.
