I like Mike, but sometimes he is just a little too big for his britches. State media isn't that damn important, it is why they are state media and not on a larger scope of media.
For years Arkansas has let Tulsa break their news, so this should not be surprising to Mike Irwin.

A. The contract wasn’t signed, they likely authorized Steinmetz to offer the deal, why would they comment on a deal that isn’t finalized?
B. He’s bitter that national media have better sources than him.

It is okay to admit being wrong or admitting that the state of the program is such a cluster right now, there is more misinformation than good information.
