what you just posted is absolutely correct.

We have the facilities, fan support, history, so... we need a coach who will recruit, develop talent and coach much better. We should compete with KY and at least be 1st in the SEC every 3-4 years period. Which would put us in as a 4 seed or better every 3-4 years etal….

Nailed it, but sadly the GOBN is good with mediocrity.

Mike will retire here.

All the more reason not to fire Mike. Our football program has never recovered.

What really frustrates me is that the Arkansas basketball program was once a national power and the potential to return is still there. Football will always be an uphill battle in the SEC given the size and demographics of the state, but the basketball program has proven to be second only to Kentucky in the conference.

A LOT of people around the program have forgotten this. The amount of talent that gets plucked out of our state on a yearly basis, we could field a consistent top 25 team at the very least. I think in the end it's going to take a good recruiter that can get the in-state talent to stay.

We went to a BCS Bowl and won 11 games after we fired Nutt. I'll take those Petrino years in a heartbeat if the alternative was to still be stuck with Nutt now forever stuck at 8 wins.

You'll take two good seasons nearly a decade ago instead of being stuck at 8 wins? That's just silly. And the 11 win season was against an easy schedule.

It's a matter of opinion. To me the success we enjoyed under Petrino was worth leaving the safety of Nutt. Bert was also able to put together a couple of Nutt-esque seasons as well so it's not like Petrino was the only coach to win a game here. I'm also pleased with where we are with Morris. So yeah, I have zero regrets with how things played out in terms of canning Nutt.

In 17 years as HC, Mike has finished in the top 25 3 times. If that's good for you, keep living the dream Bruh.

Well if you want to go solely by ranking he also recruited the worst class ever.

Getting a little ahead of yourself. He hasn't shown any reason to believe he'll win in this conference.

Why do you continue to be intentionally dumb about this? He had half a coaching staff going into January. You know this. I know you know this. You know I know you know this. Stop.

Recruiting at a top 15 national level is a great start. I'm not about to hang the guy for not succeeding with the dogshit Bert left behind. If you want to, knock yourself out.

What would you rather look at? Let’s go with Avg recruit ranking.

Last year’s was 3rd in school history and this year’s is still the best in school history.

Or maybe you’d rather look at basketball recruiting rankings.

This past year Mike had 6-7 schollies and could promise starting spots at everywhere except the 5. Why couldn’t Mike finish any higher than 38th in the country?

And Mike loses to a Quad 3 and 4 team at home

So many things are wrong with your post that you should just delete it. Anyone who upvoted it is also brain dead like yourself.

You quoted the wrong person and someone actually upvoted it. Incredible.

You can't say this class is the best ever just based on a Rivals ranking and then have a bunch of qualifiers for his first class. If we're just talking class ranking, he also recruited our worst class ever. Fact.

Eh, top 20. It's a good class, no need to exaggerate.

So what is our best class ever using 247 composite? Isn't it still this class?

It probably is but I do find it entertaining that Rivals is suddenly the go to site again after years of shitting on them.

I understand why but it's still funny.
