There are alot of things people did wrong but even with all of them we win the game if cal just fouls up 3 with 15 seconds left. Why do u let them even attempt a game tying shot

Cal is dogshit in late game situations.
DJ had no business taking last shots.
Knox and Davis were the hot hands. Should have called a TO and worked up a decent play.
Or fouled up 3 with 25 seconds left in regulation and played the foul game.

If we hadn’t jacked up threes with 10-20 seconds left on the shot clock late in the game multiple times we would have won.

I want to die. I'm so pissed.

Good let the high expectations flow through you.

If we hadn't made a bunch of fluke threes, Tech would've blown us out

Sorry guys, this one was on me. I took that Saracen special prop bet on Arkansas to win + Davis to score over 19.5 at +1000 odds.

Really proud of the team and coach cal. When the foundation is a 2 pt overtime loss in the sweet 16 I can’t wait to see what everything looks like put together in a few seasons
Last night stings for sure. Overall, cannot be upset with how this season turned out.
I think most of us would have been 100% okay with a Sweet Sixteen when Cal was hired and did not have anyone on the roster. Hell, most of us would have laughed at anyone who said this team would end up a Sweet Sixteen team when they were sitting 1-6 in the league just a couple short months ago.
I think Cal laid a good foundation for what he can and wants to do here. The NIL is there for our program to be the best in the nation. With the guys we have coming back, plus the additions, this team should compete for the league title and national title.
Short sighted, upset about how the loss went down last night. Overall, Cal exceeded my expectations for this season and showed that he still has the fire to coach and compete for a national title.

I’m slightly pissed about the mental mistakes. But we also played a good team, finished top 16, and finished a hell of a lot better than we started. For once, I’m not going to berate. I’m going to be glad that we passed most of the field and had a solid finish to this year with a new coach and entirely new roster after last years BS.

i'm not mad in the least bit iwth what we accomplished and the future of the program. def on the up and up. it's just last night was the shite of nightmares.

Cal's coaching issues showed itself last night. His recruiting and motivation got us there in the first place though

I’m hopeful for the future as well but there’s no guarantee we’ll make it back next year even with a higher seed. March is always a crapshoot and we were hot at the right time but shot ourselves in the foot multiple times and collapsed. You can’t throw away opportunities like that.
Can’t even watch the rest of the tourney or look at social media because I know our game is plastered everywhere.

Yep. With a lot of other coaches we would have easily missed the tourney but he rallied the troops and got them playing well together.
He easily has the worst late game management of any of the coaches in his tier though. Self, Izzo, Hurley, etc. aren’t losing a tourney game with a 13 point lead with 4 and a half minutes left.

Self? Izzo?
Cmon man, those dudes have been meh at best the last 5 years outside of Self's Natty.
If anything Cal's 10 year record in the tourney is as good or better than both.
It's easy to blame Cal for a lot of reasons but end of the day, the guys were tired and didn't execute. Texas Tech did, hit some huge contested shots and we lost.
We won a lot of close games down the stretch that Cal and the team won't get credit for vs how it ended.
It sucks but its over and time to look forward to next year and build a stronger team.

I’m not talking overall success I’m talking about if you put Self or Izzo in that situation last night with a double digit lead in the second half in the tournament. They would not have lost that game. Cal has other qualities over them but I’m talking in game management.
Posted on 3/28/25 at 11:22 am to Porcine Human
The only thing Cal has over them is recruiting.

I guess. That seems pretty easy to generalize.
I'm sure both have had their fair share of blown losses, I'm not going to look it up. End of the day, we were essentially down to 7 players. 7 might even be generous given Zs complete ineffectiveness down the stretch against real competition.
That is going to be hard to overcome for any coach at this point in the season and it showed last night.
Obviously your seed dictates your draw but we also had two much harder games to play ahead of this one vs Tech.

Your post makes way too much sense. I guess people forget about how last year went with our anointed genius former coach who couldn’t even make the tourney at USC this year…

Not sure about in the tournament, but Self blew a 21 point lead against Baylor like 6 weeks ago. So it happens to everyone.
