We’re seeing improvement every week now. They just need to keep pushing forward.

Yet the annoying contingency on this board is going to continue screeching about coaching being the issue despite the fact that we're actually making progress with this Sun Belt roster. The way they talk, you'd think we got penalized 20 times this game.

Look, we are getting better, but let's not pretend we didn't shite the bed twice this season. That CSU loss especially is inexcusable.

ETA: you and nobody else were talking about the "Sun Belt roster" preseason.

I definitely wasn't the only one pointing out the severe lack of depth and talent on the roster this year.

Our atrocious O-Line was brought up multiple times during the offseason and fall camp. Everyone that actually pays attention outside of on the Saturdays that we play football in the fall knew we didn't have a QB or receivers and said as much. I even specifically brought up the fact that Petrino was better off coming into a roster with Casey Dick as the QB than Morris was with this roster and was called dumb for it. Most of the preseason talk from that part of the fanbase on the board was dead on. The line, QBs, receivers, and lack of depth on defense was all brought up before we even played one down this season. There's a reason people were saying 6-6 was their optimistic prediction in the prediction thread. Now people want to act surprised and blame the coaches when we knew all along the roster was arse from a sheer lack of talent standpoint.

Blaming the coaches is just lazy criticism and wildly unrealistic. Especially given the visible improvement that has been made over the course of the season and the shape the current recruiting class is in.

I did. I had several folks needle me about it like I was a Debbi downer or a Dale Denton. I was wrong about two things though. I thought our receivers and TEs would be a little better than they are.

I felt like our defense would be better because we actually have some pretty good starters and we upgraded the defensive staff.

I figured we would suck on STs, but we are way worse than I imagined.

There are times the team looks lost and I think it is ok to put that on Morris. Hell, he looked like he was going to cry a few times today. We are seeing the team get better. They didn't quit against Auburn and they never quit today. We're going to take a beating against Bama, but then we could probably be competitive in most of the rest of our schedule if our defense holds up.

I would agree if it weren't for the CSU loss, North Texas embarrassing loss, and the QB carousel.

You mean the losses that happened because of our complete lack of talent at any offensive position? Like I said, blaming a year 1 coach for this roster is just lazy criticism. This team was so bad they only won 4 games in an established system they were specifically recruited for. People who expected better in year 1 of a polar opposite system with the exact same roster don't know football. Is Scott Frost magically a shitty coach now too?

Colorado State is one of the worst teams in college football. We blew that game. Watching Ole Miss and Vandy tonight, we should win those games if we compete like we did today. We competed well enough to surprise some SEC teams, but, alas, it doesn't matter. Defense of the Colorado State loss is unfathomable. Spin it. We had enough talent to win the game. I'm forgiving the UNT loss, but not the embarrassment.

And they were still pressuring our O-Line and had a better starting QB than we did. How is any of that Morris' fault?

Not at the right positions. Their QB was a redshirt senior graduate transfer from Washington and would instantly start on this team. He went 32 for 47 for 389 yards and ran for 54 more. He won that game for them because he was one of if not the best player on the field. Absolutely none of that is on Morris.

WE WERE CONTINUING TO TRY TO PLAY COLE KELLEY DESPITE HIS CONTINUED AWFUL PERFORMANCES.!!!

Oh and we were running it down their throats. We should have. They are one of the worst rushing defenses in FBS. We had like zero first downs when the game was on the line after we went air raid. It was cool.

You're right. And we ran the ball 53 times and threw it 22 times. What's your problem?

Storey went 5/13 for 36 yards and 2 INT's against CSU. Kelley went 6/9 for 102 yards and 2 TD's. You would have to be mentally ill to have not played Kelley that night.

I understand being upset over the loss, but you're just being irrational.

Can we just come to an agreement that losing to that CSU team was horrible, yet forgiveable if this turns around? It was a horrible loss. Morris deserves some blame for it. I'm currently butthurt that a bowl game is unattainable because of it. I have more faith that mr. Highland park can turn it around than I did a few weeks ago.
