I’m never scared of Bobby long term, because that candle burns too hot and eventually burns down the house. But he will get that bag before he retires.

Maybe. Then Auburn when Hugh Freeze gets busted in a coed with hooker or something?

Freeze has charisma and people can or will overlook his past.

Bobby does not and it is why he didn't survive his stay after the crash.

Which was a bad mistake.

He destroyed them twice.

Petrino wasn't the same after the crash.

When you're typically an aloof dickhead to people, it has a chance of coming back to bite you. Who knew?

I bet if he had the personality of Nutt, he would have kept his job and the decade of horrible football wouldn't have happened.

No one liked him before the crash and the people who could have been his friend and vouched for him, did not.

It is very likely had he had a few mediocre seasons, they would have fired him.

It's literally they same program crash on the same timeline Everytime.

He wasn't at Louisville v1 or Arkansas when it happened.

He was at Louisville v2 and Missouri state when it did.

There isnt a major program looking to make him a HC, OC maybe, his best chances of being a head coach in a major conference is with a school who wouldn't have ever been in the major conference just 5 years ago like Gus at UCF.

People seem to forget the games his last year here that could have led to a 6-6 record if the breaks didn't go the other way, which they did.

His offense isn't unstoppable as has been shown that year and his last two years in the ACC. There is a reason his best prospect before Jimbo was UNLV, he isn't in a high demand.

I remember the scoop and score against Vandy when they were already up 8. We had some big breaks that year.

that’s what I loved about petrinos teams though honestly. That was the only time in my life as an Arkansas fan that our teams seemed to play with that top 10 confidence of, “something is going to go our way and we are winning this damn game”

Yeah that’s true. Same thing happened in the Ole Miss game the week earlier, down big going into half but then Tyler Wilson threw a touchdown right before halftime that gave us some momentum.

Petrino has the best in game coaching that I have seen of any Arkansas head coach in my life.

Yes they caught some breaks that year but Petrino put them in many situations where they could take advantage of those breaks.

Nothing against Sam but he would have went 7-5 with that team as last year demonstrated his below average in game coaching.

I linked Petrino's play book from his first Louisville stint on the hogsportstalk site. It was filled with algebraic equations and diagrams that looked like they were drawn by a engineer.

His football coaching shows were incredible in detail. Monotone in personality however!

His younger brother was one of the best WR coaches in the nation.

I went to a practice and he would put his foot on a line and any WR that didn't run a route correctly would get screamed at.

Bobby would make the staff look at game film for hours.

His work ethic made Nutt and Bert look like lazy bums.

That’s literally every one of our best seasons.

The only teams it’s not is the blue bloods, that always get the benefit of the doubt/breaks the right way.

We care to revisit this topic after watching the epic crap show that was their game today against a little stiffer competition?

That team wasn’t that good. Caught some great breaks and got their shite pushed in against Bama and LSU.
