he recruited better than any previous coach we've had

If so, I think we can do without Bert's "talent"

Also I believe the Mustain class was pretty highly rated

Gotta love the MiB red flash trick that happens to majority of our fans every time around.

Kind of sad but funny at the same time.

well it happens with every fan base, with every sport, since the beginning of sports.

what's really kind of sad but funny are the pessimistic fans. they're willingly depressed and negative over something that's meant to be uplifting, fun, and take their mind off of their real world problems. if sports doesn't do that for you then you're masochistic.

This is true for the most part

I think for many it is just their way of venting. We had multiple posters on this board that said we really wouldn't win another game after the LSU road loss. I don't know if they really believed, at least I know not.

If the last 2 years of Bert football did that to you, you're the masochist man.

nothing wrong with not setting expectations too high. Less of a chance in disappointment.

There's no rule that says you have to be either exclusively sky high or rock bottom off a Harley.

I can hover at the bottom just fine. It's what we do and is called being a rational adult that has lived 2 decades of Hog Sports.

There's nothing wrong with slow playing Morris. Or even being skeptical of him due to his limited coaching experience and not exactly stellar record at SMU.

But there's certain posters that are chomping at the bit every time there's what should be universally good news to either spin it into a negative or try to convince others that they shouldn't be excited about it.

That's not being a realist. That's being a contrarian a-hole under the guise of being a realist.

I always support a coach until he gives me a reason not to. I was on board with Bielema until the back to back blown leads the last two games of that season (Mizzou and VT)

Essentially my jumping-off point as well.

The talent usage and replacement coaching hires were massive red flags. The offensive identity evaporating and coaches not knowing how to fix it or improve the last year and half was very transparent.

I'm pretty sure he just loves being wrong about things. Like when it was November and he said Bielema wasn't going to get fired.

That's when I started sharpening the pitchfork, but I was willing to forgive that if we started this season well. Then TCU happened and I wanted him gone yesterday.

I think Morris is working harder at recruiting than any coach I can remember. Could just be perception, with all the social media presence and hype, but that's pretty much what the recruits would be picking up on as well, so that's a good thing.

I don't expect top 5 classes, but Morris and his team strikes me as the kind that very well could recruit at that level, with some legitimate success on the field.

If we can get in the top 25-30 recruiting classes in the next couple of years, and Morris' system helps them play above their ranking, it could snowball into something big.

I'd love to be wrong about Morris, but we'll have to wait and see. So far he's signed the worst class in Arkansas history, not really a good start. Now we have adults creaming their jeans about a big visit weekend. You're acting like a teenage fangirl over our staff giving out a bunch of free trips to Fayetteville.

If he signs a top 15 class I'll change my tune, I just don't see it happening. I expect he'll sign an average class by Arkansas standards.
