This is wrong. The automatic one-year extension for winning 7 games is only able to be activated one time, and he already used it when they beat Kansas to get to 7 wins in 2022.

This would be good news, but it was reported when it first came out it was renewed every time he hit 7 wins.

That's a misreading of the contract. It's only applicable one time and he already used it.

We didn't have to offer him anything in the first place

This is the reason HY needs to go. The fact that we then offered him something ridiculously disadvantageous is just the icing on the cake

He will likely finish 26-24. If he wins some toilet Liberty Bowl, he will be 27-24.the big part of that though, is that he gets a 1 yr extension (base salary of $5M) so his deal would stretch back to 2028 (It's currently at 2027 because he won that Kansas Liberty Bowl and finished 7-5, triggering a 1-yr add-on).

He is owed 75% of his remaining salary if he is fired, that would make his buyout jump back $15 MILLION even if he goes 5-7 next year. He would have to go 4-8 for it to even jump back down to $10M, where it currently is now, and 3-9 to get it back to $5M.

I was not all on on the fire HY train but if this is how he negotiatea then we need him gone sooner rather than later. Holy frick what a stupid contract
