If our guys could shoot free throws at all we would only have one or two losses

We shot 18% from 3 after shooting 23% against Florida. We're not going to win at all if we can't start stretching the floor.

Actually our 3pt shooting, although poor, was a big reason that we should have won.

They made it a point not to give Joe or Jones open looks and it really opened up the paint.

We did a great job taking advantage of it.

This game, like the others, came down to poor free throw shooting

Had nothing to do with letting them shoot 63% in the first half and score 50 or anything.

If you are going to roast them for that, then give credit for basically shutting them down in the second half.

We went to OT... Hit a few more of those 28 free throws and we win.

60% continually is unacceptable

Every single player on our roster is better at bball before stepping on campus. There is 15 coaches in the country that are undefeated with our roster. The buck stops at MA and all you idiots making excuses for that sorry arse coach are part of the problem.

When your team sucks at free throwing shooting annually, then I disagree.

You can knock Mike for a lot, but this isn't true. We were a great free throw shooting team the past few years.

My bad then. I don't follow basketball closely these days and just remember lots of bricks. Thanks for correcting me.

If we aren't trying to get a coach of that caliber then why are we bothering? We have it in baseball. We are still attempting that in football. We already know MA isn't in that category.

Our football program, which had been mediocre as frick for 20 years, got Bobby Petrino from the Falcons and followed that up with Bert (who was considered a top 10 coach at the time).

Our basketball program has been mediocre as frick for 20 years, too. We can definitely get a top 15 coach in basketball.

I'm sorry, are free throws not an aspect of a college basketball team's game, and a pretty damned important one at that? If the answer is no, then you're correct. If the answer is yes, then you're wrong.

Here's a novel idea: If you want the players to take it upon themselves to practice and improve free throw shooting, come up with an acceptable free throw shooting percentage, under which players are required to shoot free throws granny-style, for practices and games. If you want to get out there and suck, it's at least fair that the people who have to watch you suck, get to laugh at you. Follow through with that a time or two, and every player will be practicing free throws on their own time.

Sure, that's a little harsh, but pay me well over 2 million dollars per year, and I'll find a better way to motivate my players to take free throw shooting seriously.
