Trying to leave Wisconsin for Arkansas is a red flag. It was a lateral move at best at the time. The national media questioned why he would leave Wisconsin for Arkansas? Well he was starting to catch some heat and needed to leave before it got too hot. So we were the next victim.
An AD should avoid coaches like that because they are quick burnouts. We had better candidates that were a better fit than Bert. But Long was lazy and didn't care.

Bert literally wrote a letter and said good job being an uncommon man and a man of character firing Bobby. Knowing his arse was on the hot seat. Seems like any letter sent to AD in his official capacity should be FOI requestable.
I’d like to really know the contents of that letter.

So ironic that he tried to hire Miles to replace Petrino. At the time, I didn't understand it, but it all makes sense now.

What's funny is that Long not using a search firm and hiring Miles due to their friendship is one of the reasons he's in hot water at KU.
