When my father reached my current age he lost all interest in Arkansas sports after being a rabid fan for decades. Years of heartbreak and mediocrity finally took its toll. He will still watch occasionally but not religiously like he did.

Here's the issue albeit I agree.
Boosters are pissed about the Golden Handcuffs contract.
They have made it known that they will not buy out Pittman.
Next year, he's gone and it's leaked into the locker room.
These kids aren't dumb, they've seen the schedule and chasing better opportunities elsewhere.

HY has been told "NO" to firing Sam this season unless he won less than 6. And the reasoning is the settlement, and revenue sharing. HY's plan for BWA was put on indefinite hold, as the reasoning for the restructuring for seating in BWA next season. It is all in the master plan for future development. The NIL although behind other schools, has picked up quite a bit from last season (or so I have been told) along with the revenue sharing. Yes, it is bad, it sucfks... But I wish I were in the room, when someone told you this to see whom it is from. I guess both could be a bit correct, according to which boosters, ptb, and bot...

I don't see how you fire Pittman. I mean hell he's gonna get an extension if he can field a team and snag a bowl win.

Look, I wish he was gone, and we hired a really great up and comer who turned into the next Saban...But if we are ever so lucky (we won't be), He'd take the Miami job, and the go to Ole Miss for them to win 5 NC...s following.
