Enos is a lethal playcaller when we can establish the run even just a little. Those screens were beautiful.

You hate to play the what if game but I can't help but ask what if we knew how to defend a spread option team and we had Gibson as a starter from the beginning of the season?
A little bit of a running game opens the whole play book for Enos to play mad scientist with. I hope we keep him after this year.

I'm scared he moves on this year.
I don't know who will we would hire to fill the void.

I refuse to think about it until after the Presidential election. I have enough existential dread to tide me over for now.

Same here. I hope we are ready to pony up big-time to keep him.

On this though, I wouldn't stress to much about yet. It's not like any one of us ever even considered Enos. He was one of my first favorite players as a kid and I've followed his career through coaching and never even remotely considered him.

Give Enos all the monies

I mean, where would he go from here?
He came here to leave a mid-major HC job, does he take another to reset his HC career or does a low p5 job give him a chance?
Or doesn't he go back to his alma mater to right the ship as an OC?

He left a job, for a raise, that he was possibly going to be fired from sooner or later. He's said multiple times since coming here that he wants to be a head coach again. I can definitely see him going back to a mid-major role.

This is probably the biggest threat considering how bad they've been this year.

He's easily an $800k-$1mil OC... Especially in the SEC. Pay the man...

I thought he did a great job of sticking with the run when it was obvious that Austin was in a funk.
Also, those screens

Helps that the run was actually working

Bert keeps a file of 10 potential replacements for every assistant position in case the need arises.
Unfortunately assistants are a revolving door job in college. If they're good they move up to HC. If they're not they get fired. Unless you can throw tons of money at them.
I like Enos though. One of our best OCs ever.

Agreed.
There are precious few great coordinators nowadays like Bud Foster, John Chavis and Mickey Andrews who are great at what they do and seem content to remain assistants, and few to none on the offensive side of the ball.
I'll miss Enos, when and if he moves on. We laud Petrino for his offenses, but our 2015 offense was more balanced and better statistically than anything he ever trotted out. He also molded the Allen brothers into All-SEC level quarterbacks.
