Thoughts on him as HC? Seems like a choice that could be either a huge success or huge failure. High risk but he would be cheap. He inherited a good team but has also beaten a couple of P5 schools this year. Anyone watched App State enough to know what we could expect?

He does have a ton of ties to the area. If we whiff on some of our other choices he might not be a bad emergency option.
Personally if we don't land someone in the Kiffin/Leach/Rhule group I'd throw a ton of money at Bill Clark or Willie Fritz and make them say no before I went with Drinkwitz.

It is for the devision we’re in. Rumors that we were willing to pay Gus $7 mill.
It’s important that they hire someone that gives the suckers like me some hope so that we’ll keep spending thousands on season tickets.

I'm taking a job in Bavaria so I won't be tempted to buy season tickets until we are on the road to recovery. Still donate to keep my place in line, but the tickets are the expensive part of that deal.
