Brandon improved because of Enos. Kelley had Enos from day 1 and you saw what we still got on the field from him. You're harming your own argument.

Austin Allen had Enos too and he actually regressed from 2016. I don’t think any QB would have been super successful with the miserable OL we had last year. Jury is still out on him to me.

The offense did do pretty well against the non-top tier defenses last year though. 43 against A&M, 38 against Ole Miss, 45 against Missouri. If the defense is just a little better Bielema makes a bowl last year.

I'm just optimistic Chard is all he's cracked up to be when it comes to scheming and can come up with creative ways to get the ball to our RBs. That and a stouter defense could steal a couple games we have no business stealing. I don't have much hope for our o line, but once again, I'm just really hoping that the new coaching staff can come up with ways to hide our weaknesses and cater to our strengths, by maybe getting the quarterback mobile. Just really hope we have a staff that's not just wholly incompetent like the last.

I thought this thread was about defense. But I will say, judging any QB play from last year behind the OLINE we fielded is a disservice to the QBs.

Any chance our rbs are worth a damn this year? We signed the #3 running back in the country a couple seasons ago for christ sake

And passed on Crockett for him

So you are saying we should’ve passed on #3 RB nationally for Crockett? Thought it was all about the stars and recruiting rankings.

News flash no one is running behind a Kurt Anderson OL including Crockett.

I'm just asking will they be worth a damn. All we heard the year we passed on him was we really didn't have a spot for him. Hard to believe we didn't have a spot for an all sec caliber back.

Crockett suffered a shoulder injury behind a pretty good offensive line with a pretty good offensive line coach leading the way.

I'm not sure he would have done so well last season.

With that being said.... Crockett was/is a massive miss by Bielema.

He is Petrino's Dixon but worse because we have to play him every year. Luckily we've yet to actually play him due to weed and an injury.

Compare how Dick looked to how Kelly looked when he got on the field last year and tell me you'd rather have Kelly in his first year as a starter over senior Casey Dick.

Not really a fair argument. Kelly would have looked much better with Petrino.
