The strength of ourlineup really showed there. Biggers and Cole get huge hits then they walk Kjerstand and Bonfield but even then you still have to face Fletcher. Not gonna get much rest against this lineup if you're pitching.

From Mike Irwin, DVH on Keaton McKinney:

"Van Horn said before today's practice that Keaton appears to have "some type of floater" in his elbow. Van Horn said he told Keaton to go head and have it removed and come back for a 6th season next year but McKinney's personal doctor thinks that surgery may not be necessary. So they are going to rest him for a couple of weeks and then see if he can throw without any issues. If he's okay he plays this season. If not it's the sixth season plan."

It became apparent something was up after that first start. DVH had responded that Keaton will pitch whenever he’s ready when asked why he didn’t pitch in Cali.

This will be it for Keaton if in fact he has to have another surgery.

I hate it for the kid, we really need him on Sunday's.

I don’t see how a floater is going to get any better in an elbow without surgery.

Bonnin to start this Sunday,

Scouting report on Diamond Hogs next opponent Kent State. The Golden Flashes will come into Baum with a 6-3 record after going 37-18 last year. They are averaging a hefty 7.33 runs per game while allowing 4.9 runs. Team batting average is .283 while the team ERA is an attackable 4.96. Team fielding average is .975 with only 8 errors in 9 games.

Pitching and Batting rosters appear top heavy with some great performers at the top but will drop in the other half. At the plate the Golden Flashes are led by Brad Hamilton .394 average and 5 of the team's 9 home runs. Slugging percentage is .879 and on base currrently .474. Nick Kanavas comes in with a .386 average mostly singles and on base average of .386. Mason Mamarella .344 average and Tim Dalporto .333 average 2 home runs .545 slugging average and on base of .378. As you can see two batters have 7 of the 9 home runs on the team.

On the mound once again top heavy with two good arms. Joey Murray 2.20 ERA and .172 opponent batting average, 19 Ks and only 4 walks in 16.1 innings of work. Connor Wallersheim 2.16 ERA opponent batting average of .115 9Ks and only 2 walks in 8.1 innings of work.

DH today, rubber match on Sunday

A lot of losses to mid-majors piling up already under an AD who is said to not tolerate losses to non-power 5 opponents...

Why did we not play today?

69 and sunny on a Saturday. Dropped the ball there whoever made that decision.
