Franklin is dragging out VT because he wants another job. Reason we stopped talking to him over a week ago.
Nobody knows who were hiring, if there’s one thing HY is good at it’s keeping stuff from leaking.

Sexton also represents Kiffin and Drinkitz.
LSU/Penn State/ Florida are all being linked to his clients in their search.
It reminds me of when the rumor was Les Miles was interviewing and hired based on comments from his agent, then everyone convinced themselves it was really his other client Gary Patterson being hired when really it was Chad Morris lol.

He could 5 years ago, but no one has wanted him since Purdy left. Penalty of not striking when the iron is hot, and then doing good enough to not get fired, but not much more.

Well yes if Campbell is an option you hire him and of story. He’s one of the best football coaches in the country. You have to be a damn near miracle worker to win games in Ames Iowa. He’s the only coach in their history win double digit games. And they are always disciplined. Something we’ve lacked for over a decade

I know I’m just brainstorming… a guy who gets literally zero NIL support might be looking at moving? I mean he had to take a paycut to make his own NIL funding

Arkansas provides a decent, if woefully mismanaged, NIL so that might be tempting. Campbell knows he will get time, Pittman got a while to make his case as did Bert.
I would throw cash in great big bundles at Bob Chesney, the head guy at JMU but for one fact. He seems to be a dedicated East Coast guy. Otherwise, Chesney is tempting. Rebuilt multiple programs, all of them in the toilet when he was hired, and has kept things rolling at JMU.
Of course, with our luck, we'll probably wind up with a burned out Gus returning to Arkansas and be stuck with a massive contract on him for years and years.

If this was true, people would have offered him in the last few years. He has floating slightly above being fired, until last year. If you look at his record. He has a lot of Houston Nutt, does just well enough in the make or break they can’t get rid of him.

Arkansas doesn't need a complete rebuild like after Chaggy. Since Pittman was hired Arkansas had lost 31 games by one score.
If Pittman/Petrino won half of those we aren't having this discussion as we'd landing bowl games around Jan 1. If they win 75% of the games there would be a playoff birth in there somewhere and possibly a sec title.
If they would have just won the game they were supposed to Arkansas would be in the theoretical next level up for the program. That with no nil support according to Hunter.
They will probably finish 2-10, but it isn't in the same fashion as chaggy. There is a couple missing components that led to 2-10 and not 10-2 and that is why there is a coaching change occurring.
