Our program was viewed in a very bad way in the coaching world post Morris.

I have.

Are we not, once again, getting raises for some great coaches, and will wind up accepting an up and comer like Chadwick Morris?

Only coach we “got” a raise was Lashlee, and he’s afraid of the job anyway.

No we will not be sinking to a G5 coach with a losing record levels lol. At worst we’ll end up with someone like Golesh or Eric Morris.

The worst in that scenario would have the highest upside, but you failed to mention that the Arkansas has their guy, big money paid, etc stems from Mike frickin Irwin.

Talked about a waste of time, more likely Arkansas can't agree on a guy and the money isn't there because of it, wash, rinse, repeat.

Most likely none of those guys come here for one reason or another. Petrino will be made permanent HC, not because they want to, but because of the fan revolt that would happen if you replaced Petrino with another Pittman level hire

It could be worse. We know it's not Franklin so we can rule him out.

Yeah step off the ledge

I’ve come to terms it’s probably gonna be somebody we aren’t really mentioning a whole lot. I really think Dabo fits the bill(he initiated contact with us). If there’s anything HY is good at is keeping things from leaking out much.

Petrino isn't even being considered. I also saw James Franklin at Guidos in Tontitown with Lou Holtz!

The Franklin stuff was interesting to me, because he never met in person with our people but supposedly we were making him the #1 target? It just doesn’t line up with me. I’m just ready for it to be done. Only thing makes me hesitant of the Franklin stuff is supposedly depending on who you ask were trying to avoid a Sexton client. I’m starting to think there might be legs to that.

What if one of the early names we dismissed has been a factor the whole time? Someone like Dilly?

Best hire we could make IMO. Hope we at least made a phone call. On paper seems unlikely he’d leave

Did we meet with Kingsbury? Not sure why he’d leave the NFL but we could do much worse.

This would be so dumb. You don’t cut yourself off from probably half the coaches available because you got your feelings hurt. Put your pants on like a man and don’t let him frick you again.

Dabo does not like the portal. Dabo is also not an Xs and Os guru. He won with superior talent and generational quarterbacks. If you believe he can pull in talent equal to bama and Georgia at Arkansas I’m all for it. If not it will be a colossal failure. If we hired him no one would be more excited than Clemson. You have to know when something has run its course and Dabos time has come and gone. The game has passed him by.

Sexton is clearly using the VT and Arkansas jobs a leverage for Franklin. Someone from his camp has put the done deal idea in the local medias head.

Step back and look at Franklin and his coaching style, 3 yards and a cloud of dust defense first mindset. That in itself will be a disaster at Arkansas. Bert2.0

Tbf, most of his clientele wouldn’t consider moving their job anyway.

He was also employed when our search started. When it was mentioned we had big $$$ lined up and would spend to make a big hire. Not saying he isn’t a target but if he was our primary target we wouldn’t be hearing about it. Based on how we normally do things.

That’s asinine, he wouldn’t be hired about assurances, we arent raising millions for NIL without using it, and he would be the biggest hire from a job in college football in I don’t know how long? We would be the talk of the CFB world. He’s also a year removed from a conference title and playoff. Far from passing him by

Serious question. Why would we want a guy who is FORCED to change his ways or stance instead of someone who is being innovative?

I’m sorry bud but it’s the truth. You aren’t always what your record says you are in today’s college football. They lost to South Carolina and Georgia, and squeezed their way through a putrid acc only to get demolished by Texas in the first round of the playoffs. The last remaining studs he signed before the wheels started to fall off are graduating and you are seeing the results. If we hire him I hope it works. I’m just 90% sure it won’t.
