They obviously have problems in the finesse/timing passing game.
I don't know who's fault that is, but running into a 9 man goal line front on 4th down is inexcusable.

I've not been a fan of his play-calling but if the defense could actually stop State this would be a game. They've gotten way more points they shouldn't have than we've missed points we should've.

The play calling has been no where near excellent today but we’ve scored 17 with a backup qb. Could be more but we can’t get a yard on the ground with 4 veteran lineman for…reasons hell idk.. the real issue is the fact everytime state gets the ball they score. Every. fricking. Time. Odom needs to carry his fricking arse

I’m a huge Briles fan between the 20s. It’s what happens on either end of the field inside the 20s that routinely leaves me scratching my head.

I don't understand. If the defense could make a stop we could kick some FGs have 23 points and be ok with where we are with a back up QB.
But because the defense can't we're asking the offense to be other wordly with a back up.

I had to miss the middle of the game but it seems pretty impressive to me that we’ve put up 478 yards after the realized Fortin was not the guy. Really wasted that 1st quarter.

They were getting gashed from the opening kick. Never showed any signs of "hold up". Fatigue is not an excuse for why you got bullied on the first two drives you defend.

Briles wasn't terrible today outside of starting forton.
His third and fourth down calls at the 1 were perfect and Hornsby fricked them up

Yeah briles wasn’t great but the offense with a backup qb wasn’t the reason we lost. It was Odom and his shite players on his shite defense. Briles could’ve made a couple better calls but for the most part called a good game our players just can’t fricking execute

That’s pretty huge, don’t you think? It’s pretty obvious that Hornsby is the better QB. What would he have looked like with first team reps all week?
Briles didn’t suck it up too bad calling plays today, outside of a couple of wtf play calls. Hornsby made some mistakes, but without ever being given the benefit of being the guy, what do we expect?
Defense sucked as usual. I guess you pick your poison against a team like Mississippi State. I’d choose 4 down lineman and blitz like crazy. Giving them time to throw could never, ever be the answer.

Do we know for certain that hornsby wasn't given first team reps? I'm not plugged into Razorback practices like that but I would imagine everyone got some time this week. They were quick to pull fortin. Second drive and he really only saw the field in obvious passing situations afterwards
