A very nice statement and I wish him the best of luck with his career elsewhere. He was the wrong coach for Arkansas and a poor fit in the SEC. Hopefully he does better at his next spot.

Dang Julie isn't playing around!!! Curious if there's a reason it was pushed up from Monday, assuming that was the actual plan to begin with.

I won't talk shite about Bielema or wish him any ill will, instead I'll say thank you to Bret for the effort and for doing his best to lead these young men in the right path off the field as well as on. This obviously isn't how he saw it happening and I'm sure he tried his best, it just didn't work out here.

He needs to step back, spend time with his wife and kid, and regroup. He has potential to be a great coach, he just needs to figure out the little things that consistently plagued his teams here and really hit them hard in his time off.

Millions of dollars and years wasted on this guy. Classy isn't necessary. Good riddance Bert.

frick the GOBN. I spent most of my adult life with the GOBs running the show being buddy buddy with Nutt. frick them. If they are running the show going forward, God help us. It was time for Bert to go, but I am not excited about the future of the program.

We are getting blasted for firing him coming off the field. Players, former players, media.

At what dollar amount do you consider someone worthy of classy treatment?

He was allowed to finish the season, most people are fired before finishing their shifts...

She's an extreme outside Darkhorse candidate for the AD position and even if she doesn't get the job she wants everyone to remember that she's a team player.

Julie is from Southern Missouri and has relatives all over Northern Arkansas. Staying at Arkansas forever and a year would be right up her alley.

Yep. I like Bielema as a person, but you know the media is going to play that card and frame us as the bad guy.

Firing was perfect. Yet another last-minute loss but this time its Bert's last. Couldn't have been more fitting.

Perhaps the next coach has been lined up? We shall see.

and? I'm not talking about him being fired or when he was fired. Just the vitriol being spewed. I'm glad to see him go, but I wish him no ill will. We have wasted millions of dollars and years on every coach since Frank Broyles. Let's grab baseball bats and beat all of them into wheelchairs, frick'em. We paid them millions they deserve it.
