Yes I know soccer is ghey…but if y’all watched the WC final your opinion would be changed.

Anyway, I’ve been pondering the top 5 greatest events in sports history (with wide appeal) but I’ve also gone down the rabbit hole of the Razorbacks’ best moments (in my lifetime). Can I get some help? My suggestions will show my age.

1. 1994 NCAAM championship
2. 1978 Orange Bowl that made me a lifetime fan at the age of 6
3. ?

A few years before I was born so all I got was '94.

1999 Tennessee holds a special place in my heart.

The ‘99 TN game as that when we blew a 21-0 lead? I broke stuff. Last time I did that after a sporting event.

It’s hard to pick a baseball memory because we’ve been so close to a Natty that it feels like everything else is meh in comparison.

But I would say Brady Toops’ grandslam in the 04 regionals is probably up there.

Also the LSU football game in 2010 in Little Rock. The Cobi Hamilton TD before the half will live in my head forever.

If anyone cares…this is what I have for best moments in all of sports history.

The most exciting sporting events in history, that I can recall at the moment…not including my Razorbacks only events with wide appeal.

US defeats USSR in hockey, 1980 Olympics, Today’s WC final, 1994 Dream Team, Super Bowl LI, 2005 Rose Bowl, 1982 Chargers/Dolphins…Fouts/Marino 41-38, OU losing to Boise lol

A couple of big ones in basketball for me.

1. Beating 21-0 and undefeated #1 UNC with Michael Jordan.

2. Beating Texas and Tom Penders when Nolan walked off the court. This one didn't mean much historically, but it was one of the best for me, personally.

The 1965 Cotton Bowl has to be on the list for me.

My first road game as a fan.

Definitely I remember that one. My dad was a lifetime UNC fan that was really something. Played in Pine Bluff if I remember right.

Also Nolan walking off the court! I remember that. Hogs rallied and won. That was the day/mayberry/Miller days.

I watched that game. Was a young fella. When Mayberry hit the three to tie it, I jumped so high my head about hit the ceiling fan blade.

Was lucky enough to be at the 4th and 25 game. Was on opposite end zone of the the play but still that was by far best game I’ve ever been to. Was at the tcu game the next year too.

Yep, in Pine Bluff and UNC had been #1 since the pre-season poll. I didn't think we had a chance, especially because we were playing 3 tough games that week. At the start of the week, I told myself we would be lucky if we won 2/3, but we won all 3.

Another big one for me was the US Reed shot against Louisville. I was at the mall and the whole place erupted when it happened.

I think I was 12 or 13. So, maybe. I sure could hit the shite out of a baseball though.

I can't remember the year, it was recently, but I'll throw out the final race that clinched a women's track title for us.

Basically we needed to finish ahead of A&M in the event to wrap it up and it was a distance race. Like a lot of distance races the runners sort of globbed together down the home stretch.

Our runner, a senior, sees this log jam forming and people slowing up, so she swings outside the pack and turns on the burners at the end and clinches the title.

I loved it because it was smart. The exact thing she needed to do to win that title was what she did.
