I heard this my whole life, and it’s obviously not true. In the NIL era we have one of the lowest rated conference recruiting classes and a 3* Mountain West QB is taking first team reps. We are fricked fellas.

We are the great value of college athletics. Every once in a while, you may have a better item(player) but you see why its better to buy name brand (4 and 5* players)

That train has sailed. They’re buying pro teams now.

Speculative 100%….but I dunno how much longer Wal-Mart will keep their HQ in Bentonville. Once Sam’s kids aren’t calling the shots what do you think will happen?

Not sure they would make a move. I know Steuart well and he absolutely loves the NWA vibe, hence the bike trail $$$$$$$$.
He can fly into the Bentonville airport virtually unnoticed.

Hang out in his 3000 sq.ft. apartment in his hangar, fly his vintage aircraft and ride his private bike trails.

Did you happen to miss the multibillion dollar campus they are building right now?

Yeah. I don't think they are going anywhere. If anything they may suspect other companies will join them in the happy confines of NW Arkansas.

Sadly, that doesn't mean they are going to be dropping millions every year on college sports. As weird as this sounds, we pretty well have to hope the next generation of people coming to raise families in the golden two counties become fervent fans and donate rather then think our billionaires will do so.

And just undo all the investments into the community and move that luxury elsewhere? Alice's museum etc... nah. They're building up their fiefdom in NWA at this point.

I wonder what the number of Broyles/Matthews donors is now compared to 30 years ago.

While not a great indicator its a decent view on how many are pumping 5-20k into the foundation.

This is true. I don’t know how more people don’t know/realize this.
