Reckon that is what happened the practice before SB as well? No media access.

Correct.

On the bright side, Hutch was saying that he thinks Wednesday’s practice is completely open to the media and might be a scrimmage.

Former Players on Morris & New Staff

quote:

“I’m confident in Coach Morris,” Ragnow said. “He seems like a great guy and I haven’t heard anything but good (things) about him. Obviously I haven’t had a chance to see much, but from what I’ve heard, it’s been great.”

quote:

Arkansas completed a 50-yard touchdown pass on a go route during the practice quarterback Austin Allen watched, prompting a wild celebration from the coaching staff. “You see five assistant coaches sprinting down the field, chest-bumping the wide outs,” Allen said. “Coach Morris was full of energy. It was fun being out there.”

Defensive line looked good  O line  ehhhh  realizing it was a practice  however d line consistently was in the backfield.  Sosa looks like a man  yeah a little bit of a man crush.   man if he lives up to his potential it would be scary  Qb's ehhh  Kelly seems to have lost a lot of weight maybe 20/25 not 8 lbs as reported.  D backs looked a little slow    receivers looked faster and caught the ball       running backs hit hard and legs kept moving.    D line had play cards in their hands when not in a contact period   VERY structured and planned practice    D walked out to set up once     Morris sent them  back and made them run to set up   Yes I know random thoughts     ALL  lineman seemed to have lost lots of weight   Remember I am not a coach  it was great to attend       looking forward to returning Wednesday     Scripted scrimmage periods  2 to 6 plays and change out teams  for the next series   LOTS of hustle by everyone

Looked a couple places for maybe someone else to say how practice went from a RF member. All I could find was this one from some dude on tardville who basically admitted he was no coach or scout so he was a huge amateur at this.

Either way what I gathered from this is we are still slow in the secondary some how. Our starting 5 all seem to be high talent guys when you count in Santos, curl (who is very athletic and explosive for his size), calloway who everyone in the sec wanted, pulley (who is all sec material, and a high draft pick), and Richardson (least talented, highest IQ, most experienced, and made all of our plays last season in the secondary). We had just recruited the class before a bunch of raw athletes for this position so I'm kind of stunned by this view from this guy.

He says our wrs look fast. So maybe all of the lost bert weight really helped this area. Maybe this increase in speed, and using our faster guys like Warren, made our secondary seem slower despite what I posted before.

The O line looking bad, and D line looking good seems like a lose lose. O line probably still sucks moose penis, and our lack of depth on a terrible returning D line with 14 sacks on the season probably is 2016 all over again. The D line just dominating a poor O line, and when game time comes they will both be poor.

The QB situation is as I expected. I will be attending the spring game. I watched Brandon in 2015, Austin in 2016, and Ryan mallett in 2010. I will have a good group to compare To. Brandon looked lights out, and poised as frick. I expect Cole to start. I also expect him to be hum ho for the first half of the season until the offense gels a little bit. His only saving grace may be this offense using him correctly and him being our belldozer in short yardage in 3&1s and goal line situations. That may honestly be the difference between him looking like mediocre poo, and being a serviceable decent qb. Also the fact that we will finally be creative, and spread the fricking defense out in goal line situations will make an instant difference in our red zone woes for the last 2 years. I have been screaming for this forever so I'm optimistic here.

Really if the o line can protect him a few ticks longer, and the wrs making a huge jump could do wonders for this offense.

They seem to be doing a great job keeping the former players involved with the program, which I love.

So far they have done a tremendous job at rebuilding ties with HS coaches and talking up former players. Considering we are going to have to recruit ourselves out of the hole we are in both are vital.

Never understood why you wouldn't want former players, especially the one's now playing in the NFL, involved in your program. Bert talked about it when he first got here, if memory serves me correctly, but nice to see Morris actually putting into action or recognition.

Some of those guys didn't like how things went down, especially with Chaney and Pittman. And they were semi-vocal about it. CBB seemed to be extremely petty with those who had a different opinion, than his.

Can you expound? It seemed clear to me that Chaney was a fat frick, and sucked. It seemed obvious his play calling was suspect.

The Pittman ordeal makes more sense. Now Pittman probably fomented angered over his butt buddy getting canned.

Beyond this though, enos was only an amazing play caller in 2015. His first year. After teams got a year of film on him, he became very predictable in his play calling. I feel like our lack of redzone creativity was on the head fatass himself though. Too stubborn.

The common thought process was that Bert played favorites and those who liked Chaney and Pittman didn't get a chance at the field and thus our o-line sucked as a result.

We will ignore those who followed them here and continued to play after their departure and focus on the clean slate those who remain have received, if the theory is true then we will see those previously buried on the depth chart move up instead of transferring out creating available scholarships that could have been used this past year during recruiting.

Aka Merrick. Would make sense as to why he was hated so bad by the last staff even though everyone in the country wanted him. frick fatass. I always knew he was playing favorites to the detriment of this team

enos wasn't that great a play caller in 2015. the qb was that much better at not turning the ball over and accuracy

Morris doing PC right now. Some good info coming out. People haven't heard much from whaley, but said he could be special.

Bad news: agim has been moved inside a bit because of our lack of depth at DT. Said he could go back outside though. Says Ramsey is separating himself.

Said Cole has had 3 good practices. Picked up where they wanted him to today. Says that storey has had a good spring. Says there is a battle there.

Martin has a foot sprain. Patton has a stinger in his neck. Sat out today. Said Ryan pulley is as good of a corner as there is.

I’m okay with Agim playing the 3 technique inside as long as he doesn’t balloon up to 300 pounds. It would create an opening for Gerald at SDE opposite of Ramsey at WDE and put Agim next to Ramsey.

I figure Ramsey, Agim, Capps, Gerald will be our four best DL next season.

I’m curious who they had outside in his place today. Bell maybe?

this is conxerning. one area where the coaching staff was precious very consistent is they all the way broke it not just strained it.and only 1 so far? sounds like were not pushing the kida hard enough. expect a soft spread team next year
