51. Some schools think Jaheim Singletary (51) should play safety long term. Either way, he’s going to help Arkansas next year. Still extremely talented.

112. Throw it up! Arkansas added one of the nation’s tallest receivers in 6-foot-7 Tyrone Broden (112).

Former Maryland defensive tackle Anthony “Tank” Booker Jr. has committed to Arkansas after narrowing his list to five schools.
He picked the Razorbacks over Ohio State, South Carolina, Texas A&M and Purdue. He made official visits to each school.

Booker, 6-4, 320 pounds, entered the NCAA transfer portal March 7 after recording 25 tackles, 2 sacks and 2 forced fumbles as a senior last season. He recorded 9 tackles and 1 tackle for loss in 10 games in 2021.
Booker committed to Maryland over Cincinnati, Kansas, Toledo and other schools in 2019 out of Winton Woods High School in Cincinnati. He was a consensus 3-star prospect.
Booker said he had two years of eligibility left when he announced plans to transfer. Defensive line coach Deke Adams was his lead recruiter.
He is the 12th transfer for Arkansas since the 2022 season.

He had a hard time putting on weight. We want out CB's to be around 180 or higher. He came in around 163.

We're not that picky. Got any more we can have?

Wow on Booker. Much needed 3 technique.

I figured after his visit we wouldn't get him but people were very high on landing him during/shortly after his OV to Fayetteville.

He then started visiting College Station and Columbus.

to Deke Adams. Hopefully get the Minnesota one too.

North Texas tight end Var'Keyes Gumms has committed to transfer to the University of Arkansas.

Gumms, 6-3, 235, went public with his decision on Sunday, becoming the Razorbacks’ 13th scholarship transfer addition this offseason. Gumms is expected to officially join the team at the end of next month and will have three years of eligibility remaining in Fayetteville.
"I chose Arkansas because, back to the community and back to the football team in general, I feel like it's a perfect fit," Keyes said. "They need tight ends here. It's a tight end-heavy offense, it's not too far from home and it's still in the South."

Gumms, who was recruited by new Arkansas tight ends coach Morgan Turner, chose the Hogs over other transfer offers from California, West Virginia, Utah, Colorado, Oregon, BYU, and Florida Atlantic. The current redshirt-freshman announced his decision to enter the transfer portal in late March, and his first look at Fayetteville sealed the deal in short order.

"I loved the visit," Gumms said. "I love the people in Arkansas. I loved the fans. I feel like I can play a real big role here at Arkansas, not just build the football team but build the community too, to get things back rocking. I see the potential if games start being won around here. I see the potential of the fan base, of the community, and even the football staff."

After appearing in three games during his redshirt season of 2021, Gumms had a breakout year in 2022, posting 34 grabs for 458 yards and 5 touchdowns. Gumms played in 14 games with six starts, earning the coaches’ nod for first-team All-CUSA.

Gumms set North Texas single-season records for receptions and yards by a tight end, led the conference in receiving yards by a tight end, and finished 15th nationally in yards by a tight end.

Gumms is viewed as an important addition for the Razorbacks, who lost last year’s starter, Trey Knox, to South Carolina and return a combined total of four career receptions at the tight end position.

In addition to Gumms, the Razorbacks have added five other transfers on the offensive side of the ball, including quarterback Jacolby Criswell (North Carolina), offensive guard Joshua Braun (Florida), and three wide receivers in Andrew Armstrong (Texas A&M-Commerce), Tyrone Broden (Bowling Green) and Isaac TeSlaa (Hillsdale College).

The defensive additions include three defensive linemen in Trajan Jeffcoat (Missouri), John Morgan (Pittsburgh), and Anthony Booker (Maryland), linebacker Antonio Grier (USF), and three defensive backs in Al Walcott (Baylor), Lorando Johnson (Baylor), and Jaheim Singletary (Georgia).

Arkansas is still expected to be entertaining possible transfers at offensive line, tight end, defensive tackle, linebacker, safety and nickel. The 15-day transfer portal window comes to a close on Sunday, April 30.

Another commitment has been announced for the Razorbacks, this time from the transfer portal, as North Texas tight end Var'Keyes Gumms announced Sunday he is committing to Arkansas.

After taking an official visit to Arkansas over the weekend, Gumms made it official by posting to his Twitter account.

Gumms, 6-foot-2, 230 pounds, entered the transfer portal on March 23 and received an offer from Arkansas on April 15. He chose the Hogs over Oregon, BYU, Colorado and others.

He spent two seasons with the Mean Green and appeared in just three games in 2021, recording no stats.

During 2022, however, he recorded 34 receptions for 458 yards and five touchdowns in 14 games. His efforts earned him First Team All-Conference USA and C-USA All-Freshman Team honors from the league's coaches.

Gumms' best game statistically came against UTSA on Oct. 22, when he recorded 92 yards and a touchdown.

Coming out of high school in Houston, Gumms was ranked a 5.5 three-star recruit and was listed by Rivals as a defensive end. He chose North Texas over Texas, LSU, Houston and others.

During the first transfer window in December and January, Arkansas hosted another tight end with similar stats from North Texas in Jake Roberts, but he committed to Baylor.

In last year's recruiting class, the Razorbacks picked up two four-star tight end prospects in Luke Hasz of Bixby, Oklahoma, and Shamar Easter of Ashdown, but another pass-catcher with college experience should shore up the position well.

Gumms is believed to have three years of eligibility at Arkansas. He is the second transfer commitment in April, joining defensive tackle Anthony "Tank" Booker from Maryland.

Gumms higher rating than the other UNT TE we were on earlier Jake Roberts and higher than Trey Knox on On3 updated rankings.

Singletary, Booker and Gumms all spring additions have at least one 4-star ranking by either On3, 247 or Rivals.

Singletary has all three and Gumms has two with Rivals not knowing he exists currently.
